Now there’s a planted sign if I ever saw one. Who the hell would bring a sign promoting ERIC BISCHOFF’S BOOK?
OPENING SEGMENT- okay. Sting’s promo was great. I loved the way he dealt with Jeff in his promo, and semi-kayfabeness was very good. Hogan’s promo was just a lot of rambling. Bubba’s promo was okay. I didn’t like AJ’s very much, though. I felt that he took the wrong approach. In a feud like Bubba vs. Devon, the babyface point of view should be that both men were equals, and were both integral parts of the tag team. What AJ did was say that Bubba didn’t do anything, and that it was Devon who did all of the work. The problem is that we fans, even from a completely kayfabe point of view, know that this isn’t true.
Anderson’s promo was okay. He is getting slightly annoying with his crappy jokes. Then he randomly decided to break kayfabe, which pissed me off.
Oh… and Bischoff… you don’t make money off of free TV. To “make money off of this hostility,” you would have that match on PAY-Per-View
AJ & RVD BACKSTAGE- Very good.
TNA KNOCKOUTS TITLE MATCH: Madison Rayne(c) vs. Alissa Flash- I didn’t even get the chance to finish popping for Melissa before Madison jumped her! GREAT heel stuff. I haven’t been that angry in a while!
WHAT THE F*CK?! This time I am bad-heat, non-kayfabe pissed off! They couldn’t have used some jobber for this? They had to use the best female wrestler in the world? I hope the paid Melissa a LOT of money for this sh*t.
MADISON-MICKIE SEGMENT- PERFECT! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
Calling it now: Anderson will turn heel and basically take Jeff’s place. This was made obvious by the fact that, for once, SOMEONE KICKED THE CAMERAMAN OUT OF THE ROOM!
POPE-JOE SEGMENT- As the Rock would say… that segment ABSOLUTELY SUCKED! This was stupid, a waste of time, and DIDN’T BUILD TO ANYTHING! And why the hell was Pope carrying around a fake knife? Just in case Joe and Okato came out, and just in case Pope had the chance to pretend to take someone hostage? Really?
Joe accidentally says “Okada” instead of Okato, showing us how dumb using that ringname truly is.
RVD-ANDERSON SEGMNET- Seemed like it would have been better, but RVD kind of botched his lines at the end. Great concept/booking though.
THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE & WINTER BACKSTAGE- What the hell was up with Angelina in that segment? She seemed higher than Jeff Hardy at a PPV (too soon?).
JEFF JARRETT PROMO- would have been great if anyone cared about this feud.
ANGLE-JARRETTS SEGMENT- you know what? I am fine with this. I can definitely buy that everything that has happened has pushed Kurt over the edge.
TNA TV TITLE MATCH: GUNNAR(c) vs. MURPHY vs. ROB TERRY- 3/10. Extremely short. Why didn’t JB announce their weights?
AJ PROMO- good, but Ric Flair should never be dropped with one punch like that in such a cheap (meaning not valuable, rather than dirty) way. Flair getting knocked down hard should be saved for special occasions. This was not one. At least it led to something.
Apparently JB doesn’t know this is a Street Fight, because he didn’t announce it as such:
HERNANDEZ, SARITA, & ROSITA vs. MATT MORGAN, ANGELINA LOVE, & WINTER- 0.5/10! A Street fight with no weapons use at all. People need to tag in and out (I assume, or else why would TBP have been standing on the apron and Tenay have commented that “all hell has broken loose” [it didn’t, by the way])… one non-legal wrestlers covered another for the win… OH… and this went LESS THAN TWO MINUTES!
Hernandez cuts a promo telling us that they aren’t dropping this race angle. They are just going to have him say that damn line until somebody boos it.
Then some guys jump into the ring and helps beat Morgan down, until they use Angelina as human shields to escape. Because the two of them can’t take Matt Morgan at the same time.
#1 CONTENDERS MATCH: RVD vs. MR. ANDERSON vs. BULLY RAY vs. AJ STYLES- 5/10. Dumb finish. I was enjoying this, but it ended too damn soon, and with a dumb finish, too. Hebner deserved to get punched for THROWING THE CHAIR IN THE RING, rather on the outside! And what the hell, AJ? Bubba was just about to kill Borash! Why did you stop him?!
BUBBA POWERBOMBS AJ OFF THE STAGE- At least this is going somewhere, and I liked the way they did everything at the end. It felt very real.
I guess word came down from the higher-ups that Impact has been too good lately, so we got this piece of sh*t. I’m not sure that there was even TEN MINUTES of wrestling on this show, and there was DEFINITELY LESS THAN FIFTEEN. IN A ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY MINUTE SHOW! WTF?
Stupid Announcer Quotes:
1. Taz (in response to Tenay commenting on Sting’s new title belt)- “well we assume that’s what it is… well… uh… I guess you’re right… I’m pretty sure you’re right because we see the other purple title that’s… uh… in Sting’s hands”
WHAT THE F*CK ELSE COULD IT BE? And why would seeing Sting also carrying Jeff’s custom belt make you more certain that is was a new version of the TNA World Heavyweight Title belt? Sting carrying the previous belt as well as a new belt would make you think that the new belt was an entirely new title… or else why would he be carrying both?
2. Tenay- “Sting demanding to talk with the men who have been totally in charge of TNA ever since the legal verdict against TNA President Dixie Carter was announced back on March the 3rd. Yes… we are talking about Immortal’s Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff”
Really? You’re talking about the two guys coming out to the ring now after Sting called them out BY NAME? I thought you were talking about Ernie and Bert. Shut up, Tenay!
3. Taz- “Tiger Blood”- WHAT THE F*CK?
4. Taz’ “There’s really a history here between RVD and Bully Ray”- Really? What history? Just because they were in ECW together doesn’t mean that there is any history between them! They’ve feuded over some belts in a purely business manner a couple of times. So what? None of the feuds were epic enough to be considered “history” (I’m taking Nigel vs. Dragon or RVD vs. Lynn or something like that).

wasn't Okato just a stupid name imposed by Taz?? He's still Okada, but everyone calls him Okato....kinda like everyone calls Bubba Bully RayBig Red Machine wrote:

He is listed as "Bully Ray" on the roster page. Okada isn't even ON the roster page.cero2k wrote:wasn't Okato just a stupid name imposed by Taz?? He's still Okada, but everyone calls him Okato....kinda like everyone calls Bubba Bully RayBig Red Machine wrote:
