Impact Wrestling 2/16/17 Review: Wolves Collide!

We got a preview of House Hardy vs Mexicools tonight. We also got a nice recap of the break up of The Wolves.

Decay w/Abyss vs Moose and Brandi Rhodes - 3/10
We start the show straight to a match featuring Brandi Rhodes and her affair. Josh and Rayne made a good point that even though Brandi had the guts to get in the ring, her lack of experience was hurting Moose because it was really easy to provoke her and allow double teams or Abyss to interfere. Rayne also said that apparantly Brandi is calling herself "mini moose", it's an affair I tell you! Match was Moose vs Steve with a bunch of interference from Rosemary. Brandi only got there a little while and she was greener than Tajiri's myst. She's so green that winning made Decay look terrible.

Eddie Edwards Pre-commercial - He's not here to talk, he's here to kick Davey Richard's ass.

Moose/Brandi Rhodes Backstage - Moose tells her that if she needs help, she knows where to find him. IT'S AN AFFAIR!!

Eddie/Davey Pull-apart - Eddie is out in the ring and straight up calls Davey Richards out. He doesn't blame losing the match to Lashley on Davey, but he is pissed they attacked his wife. Instead of Richards, out comes Angelina Love. she apparently calls the shots in house Richards. She says that Eddie forgot about them when she was pregnant and Davey had to be running around in crutches. Davey eventually comes out, new song and he now calls himself "THE American Wolf".

Davey says he created the Wolves team, he created the WolvesNation, and now he is going to destroy it. They had a great back and forward in the mic until Eddie just gets annoyed, drops the mic and runs to attack. They both were pretty good. Nice pull apart until Eddie challenges Davey to a street fight. TONIGHT!

Braxton Sutter's bachelor party - This looks like the lamest party ever, Bennett introduced some people who I have no idea who they are, some interesting characters for sure.

DCC Promo - They say they're going straight through the roster, but I still don't know what the destination is. We're getting Godderz vs Kingston tonight, Kingston is going to gouge Jesse's eyes out.

House Hardy Tijuana Vacation - I think the police just asked Matt Hardy to "delete meekmahon", and eventually they make the grand entrance to the arena. CRASH's arena is bigger than the Impact Zone. They go backstage and they meet Konnan, who is trying to get as much bootleg Hardy stuff to sell tonight.

Laurel and Braxton are getting married next week. That was quick.

Laurel's Bachelorette Party - Allie decorated the party, it's all hearts and cupcakes, I think Maria, Sienna, and Laurel wanted stripper. Allie didn't know who the party was for, so Maria finally broke the news. Perfect reaction by Allie and Maria is a monster heel.

Kingston vs Jesse Godderz - 5/10
During the match, Josh and Pope are really selling that DCC put ECIII on the shelves. Nothing match, kinda short. Godderz with a springboard something. DCC didn't interfere until after the match, but Godderz took off before he got attacked. Godderz said that he just beat one, he's coming for the rest.

Braxton Sutter's Bachelor's Party - Sutter got offered drugs and wanted to take off. There was a weird chant and a fat guy landed on the drug dealer. It was bad, but I love Sutter and Bennett.

We got a Fact of Life coming up next. Tyrus is taking over, should be awesoe.

Laurel's Bachelorette's Party - Allie got a piñata for the party, everyone is bored. Maria makes Allie cry, Sienna wants to drink herself to sleep. I LOVE THIS STORY!

Fact of Life feat. Eli Drake - Draake's arm is in a sling. Tyrus confronts him on running out on him last week. Eli has a note saying that he got injured during the match and ran back to get medical support. Then it turned out it was all a lie. Eli's real reason to pissed off is because for the last two weeks Tyrus had been deciging matches for Eli, including going 2-on-3 with the DCC and wasting the briefcase with ECIII and not a title match. Eli pays Tyrus to protect him and he is the boss. Tyrus grabs him by the neck and he'll show who owns who in the ring next week.

House Hardy Tijuana Vacation part 2: Konnan looks really thin from the last time I saw him and is walking ok. Konnan sets up House Hardy vs Psychosis and Super Crazy, and made sure like 3 times that House Hardy is not asking for money, just the match.

Laurel's Bachelorette's Party - Maria got Laurel some lingerie as a gift, kinda rubbing it in the face of Allie that Braxton and Laurel are going to fuck. Maria also told Allie she'll be the ring-bearer. Then they took off, Sienna took the booze.

Mexican Tag Team Championship Match
House Hardy vs Psychosis and Super Crazy (C) - Unratable.
Before the match, V-1 was instructed to prepare the extraction for after the match, instead he called for some ladies of the night, i'm not kidding. This Crash show seriously looks good. They didn't really show the match per say, but quick cuts of the match, but from what we got it looked like a good match, Nicho hasn't lost a step and Super Crazy while fatter, is still pretty good. Hardys win the titles ad the crowd goes wild. They hurry back to V-1, Konnan and co are trying to stop them from taking the titles, but House Hardy made it in time. They re-appear back in the dome of deletion; suddenly Matt Hardy has another pre-monition, next week he becomes an egyptian kind and challenge for the Mid-Atlantic titles.

This was the match that LU cockblocked and Impact had to blur the ref, given the situation, Impact did a great job dealing with this problem. Kuddos to their editing team.

Maria/Tessmacher promo - They recap the Sienna/Brooke stuff. Tessmacher builds up Sienna, but says she's ready for her and tells Maria she'll shut her up.

Sienna w/ Maria vs Brooke Tessmacher - 4/10
You may be asking, how they hell did they make it back so fast, I forgot to mention that both Laurel/Sutter parties were 'Last Night'. Terribly wrestled match, Botch Tessmacher in all her glory. There were two great female performances here, one was on commentary, the other was a manager outside the ring. Poor Sienna had to take the loss.

Braxton Sutter's Bachelor's Party - Bennett is drunk, Sutter wants to take off, and old man wants to watch porn, instead Bennett brings in a stripper: Roxy, with the voice of Honma.

Eli Drake Parking Lot Promo - Drake grabs the cameraman and he tells Tyrus that next week, he's gonna take him out like he did with ECIII. So now we're all taking credit of taking out ECIII? It was nice, the visual was great!

Lashley/Barnett Segment - Usual 'No one is left for me in the back' promo. He's done with ECIII. He's done with Eddie Edwards. There's not a fighter alive that can hang with me.....except. JOSH FUCKING BARNETT!! Impact Zone has no idea who Josh Barnett is and Josh Matthews sucks at selling it. Seriously, fuck everyone who didn't mark out at this. Josh tells him that he'll take him on. Lashley says this is HIS realm, and in his realm there are no rules like there are in MMA. Josh says that if he's so sure, then put the title on the line. Lashley was awesome, Josh was a bit awkward, but I think the crap reaction from the fans and Matthews killed this segment. This could had been great.

Braxton Sutter's Bachelor Party - Everyone is asleep after watching porn, Sutter finally gets to take off, but before he does, he lays Roxi on him and takes a pic, sent it to Maria. Dick move dude, dick move. The wedding invitation graphic says there is dinner in reception after the ceremony.

Street Fight
Eddie Edwards vs Davey Richards w/Angelina Love - No Rating, great segment
Angelina comes out first and distracts Eddie so Davey can jump him from behind. They're pretty much wrestling in the clothes they came out for their segment to, completely irrelevant, but I kinda like it. At one point Eddie went for a tope suicida and flew over the guard rail, looked awesome. Angelina and Davey made a really good team both attacking Eddie until Aleisha came out for the save. Angelina took her out quickly which sucks since she can actually go. Angelina handcuffed her to the ropes. Angelina was going to hit Aleisha with a chair, but Eddie covered her, and again we see Davey and Angelina destroy Eddie, but with chairs now. At the end Davey hits a Con-Chair-To like hit for the kill.

Angelina kicked Hebner in the balls for no reason, I loved it.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Crap show inside the ring, but great stuff with House Hardy, The Laurel/Suttter wedding stuff, and the Wolves imploding. The Lashley/Barnett could have been awesome, but like I said, the lack of reaction made it bad, but I can't blame them, the Impact Zone fans are not the hardcore wrestling fans of yesterday, and surely they're not MMA hardcore fans either. The Eli Drake/Tyrus stuff is awesome, but like I expressed myself last week, I'm kinda sad that the team is done.

They can't even get through one show and one match in this feud without jumping into a gimmick match? I would SOOOOO much rather see these two try to kill each other in a regular match than a gimmick match. I'll take Dragon vs. Roddy from Vendetta over any hardcore match between technical wrestlers. Also, doing a Vendetta-style match would feel unique in TNA, whereas we get no DQs matches at least once a show.

Just watched the bachelorrette party segments. TREMENDOUS. The only think I don't like is the way they have turned Sienna into someone normal. I want her to be like Chyna. Completely stone-faced for all of these segments, no matter what insanity is going on around her.

Sure, Because doing a standard regular match with a guy who's been basically like a brother to you just reeks of PERFECT revenge/payback. Besides, you know they HAVE to have gimmick matches every week. You said it lol.

I think they should have waited 1 week at least for the street fight, they should have just done the pull apart this week. Having seen what the street fight ended as, it didn't bothered me as much, but i do think it should be extended a bit more. I do agree that it makes sense to go straight for the street fight type of match, it started really personal with the Alisha thing.

I actually think that the whole thing with the wives takes away from what the central issue should be, which is Davey and Eddie. They should have brought the wives in later (like have Angelina interfere to help Davey win their first match, then have Eddie bring Alisha in as an equalizer.
