They didn't even wait for a PPV to do Wolves vs. Beer Money.
Matt (w/Reby) vs. Jeff (w/Shame Helms?) (World Title)
Wolves vs. Beer Money (Tag Titles)
Tyrus vs. EC III (some sort of hardcore stip)
Gail Kim vs. Jade (Knockouts Tile)
Tigre Uno vs. Trevor Lee (X-Title)
EY vs. Bennett vs. Ken Anderson vs. Eli Drake (KOTM Title)
Lashley vs. Big Damo
Crazzy & his evil friends vs. Lashley, Spud, & Velvet
Drew vs. Bram
This could have been one heck of a PPV that they probably could have gotten all set up by mid April.

Re: TNA Kinda-Sorta SPOILER
Lockdown stopped being a big show when they took it off of PPV. It's just a regular TNA gimmick show now, no different than the other gimmicks they do every other week on Impact. They've completely lost the ability to put on a big show anymore. They just think that giving something a goofy name like "Hardcore Justice" or "Bell to Bell" or whatever and putting some gimmick matches on it makes it a big show, but it doesn't. For something to be a big show, it needs to have matches that have really been built to.cero2k wrote:this is likely for Lockdown, so it makes sense that it's a big show. but i get what you're saying
I'm not denying that they have done a decent job of building to Wolves vs. Beer Money so far. I think they've done a great job of keeping it in the background but always bringing it up so that by the time they start to really build to it will be something they've been talking about for months. They should be able to get at least five or six weeks out of this Wolves vs. Crazzy Steve & Abyss feud during which they should be setting some other team up for a title shot (best thing to do seems like it would be having Bram & EY cheat to beat Beer Money in a #1 contendership match) so that's another two weeks there (one week for promos where Beer Money lament getting screwed out of a title shot while The Wolves says that it's BS that Beer Money got screwed but it doesn't matter because they could beat either team while EY and Bram say they're going to win the tag titles and then will be the best team in the world because they will have beaten both the Wolves and Beer Money, and then you have the match the second week with Beer Money preventing EY & Bram from cheating to win the belts), then you go and blow off Bram & EY vs. Beer Money with Beer Money winning while the Wolves face whoever got the Feast or Fired Briefcase (it was dumb to give it to Beer Money when you have so few teams and this would let you make a challenger without having to beat the other teams)... and THEN you start the real build towards Wolves vs. Beer Money!
I don't know when Lockdown is going to air, but I don't think it can be any later than mid-March based on their taping schedule, so that's six weeks out and the Wolves have just started a feud with someone else- and someone who needs to be established so they need a long feud to help them do that.
It's stuff like this that makes me question whether TNA really does have any sort of long-term plan to build to an actual PPV to make actual money.
