BRM Reviews WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 (Bad)

Post by Big Red Machine » Feb 20th, '12, 09:06

WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 (2/19/2012)- Milwaukee, WI

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WWE TITLE: CM Punk(c) vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth vs. The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho- 6.5/10. Not even close to acceptable. It just wasn’t exciting at all, and they spent WAY too much time on the Jericho stuff when it was so obvious it was a work.

SANTINO COMEDY SKIT- dumb. THIS is the chump who will be in tonight’s main event.

CENA VIDEO PACKAGE- eh. I marked out a bit when I saw Rollins and Leakee, though. This actually put Big E. Langston over huge, though. They could capitalize off of that.

WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: Beth Phoenix(c) vs. Tamina Snuka- 5.25/10

JOHNNY ACE & FRIENDS SEGMENT- Great (although Del Rio’s reading of his lines sounded like a super villain in a D movie.

THE BIG SHOW PRROMO- eh.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Daniel Bryan(c) vs. The Great Khali vs. Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Wade Barrett vs. Santino Marella- 7.25/10.
Very disappointing for an Elimination Chamber match. Khali lasts thirty seconds and loses to a non-finisher? WTF!? Almost no one lost after a finisher, which also bothered me. The nearfall with the Cobra nearly gave me a heart attack'. The aftermath with Sheamus was eh.

VARIOUS PEOPLE BACKSTAGE WITH HORNSWOGGLE- dumb. The stuff between Jack Swagger & Teddy Long makes me fear that Teddy Long might wind up in charge of both shows.

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Jack Swagger(c) (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. Justin Gabriel (w/Hornswoggle)- 4.5/10

AMBULANCE MATCH: John Cena vs. Kane- 6.5/10. The stuff with the wheelchair looked ridiculous. This match really didn’t click with me at all.

Overall, an extremely disappointing show from WWE. Definitely one to stay away from.

For me if i were to watch this show again, i'd turn it off after the SD chamber match. After that it, the show was completely forgettable.

I disagree. The first chamber rocked until ths jericho bump. The second chamber rocked after Khali was gone.

I mean, did you hear the noise from that crowd? I haven't seen a crowd that invested in a match for a long time.

After the smackdown chamber though? i'll pretend that stuff never happened

I really hated people not getting eliminated with finishers in the Smackdown chamber. Roll-ups are fine, but no one else (aside from Santino) got eliminated after a finisher.

I'll agree with that. Big Show I accepted because he took a couple Beautiful Disaster kicks, and Cody was kayfabe unable to lift him up for the Cross Rhodes. But I think Cody definitely should have taken a finisher and been eliminated by someone other than Santino.

Cody getting rolled up didn't bother me at all. It was Khali going down ton a spear, and Barrett going down to diving headbutt that bothered me.

well, I think they're blaming that on the grueling Chamber match itself; like the Chamber takes so much outta ya that your opponents might be able to finish you off without a finisher. I don't mind ppl being beaten by a move that isn't a finisher, bc it makes the guy getting the pin look like he's perfected another move OR that the match itself has gon on long enough to wear down the competitors. Show elimination was okay with me bc Barrett and Rhodes double teamed him to take him down (I don't think it makes Show look weak to be eliminated off a double team by the #2 and #3 heels on SD!), Khali was eliminated quickly (thank GOD! although here, I don't see why Show didn't use the WMD), and Barrett and Rhodes were rolled up.

I'm REALLY surprised you didn't like the Raw Chamber match; I thought it was the better of the two. It's obvious that Jericho's "bump" was a way to build towards mania but the rest of the match was pretty damn good! I loved Ziggler doing pull ups and leg raises; he was great. Kofi did a good job too; Truth wasn't really given much time (which I thought was crap) and Miz being the last guy was a problem for me; Ziggler would have been a better choice imo, considering his won/loss record against Punk.

I liked both Chamber matches and all the extra stuff. I didn't believe for one second that Tamina was gonna win the Divas title though. I always thought she could be a good, powerful Diva but all they're doing now is pushing her further into her fathers shadow. I honestly didn't pay attention to the US title match, but the backstage stuff was funny. The Ambulance match just gave a weak, almost inconclusive end; if that's what they were doing, that match should not have been last....
