BRM Reviews WWE Hell in a Cell 2014
WWE Hell in a Cell 2014 (10/26/2014)- Dallas, TX
KICKOFF SHOW:
MIZ-DOW TV, WITH SPECIAL GUEST: THE MIZ- MUST SEE AWESOMENESS!
Also, Sheamus’ part was cool (although the effect was a bit corny). Most importantly, though, let the seeds of dissent be planted!
MARK HENRY vs. BO DALLAS- squash. Actually, more like a murder. Bo is going to drive Mark over the edge to the dark match.
MAIN SHOW:
For those wondering about the ring-announcer situation now that Justin Roberts has been let go, they had Eden Styles (Cody Rhodes’ wife) and Lillian Garcia were splitting duties.
2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Dolph Ziggler(c) vs. Cesaro- 7.5/10
A good story, great counters, awesome action, and a fantastic finish.
THE AUTHORITY BACKSTAGE- Orton is pissed at Rollins for Curb-Stomping him on Raw. Steph tells him to take his anger out on Cena in their match, not Rollins. Hunter made a heelish excuse for Rollins’ actions.
LOSER BECOMES THE WINNER’S PERSONAL ASSISSTANT FOR 30 DAYS: Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella- 2.5/10
WWE TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Goldust & Stardust(c) vs. The Usos- 6.5/10
HELL IN A CELL MATCH TO DETERMINE THE #1 CONTENDER TO THE WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Randy Orton vs. John Cena- 8.75/10
Lots of awesome stuff, and some great counters and great use of weapons. The crowd was very pro-Orton. Not just the usual “Cena sucks chants,” but actual chants for Orton like “Let’s go Randy!” and “RKO!”
MARK HENRY & BIG SHOW BACKSTAGE- Big Show said he would beat Rusev, for himself, for American, and for Mark Henry, too.
WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Sheamus(c) vs. The Miz (w/Damien Miz-Dow)- 5.75/10
Fun stuff. Sandow rocks. They had the crowd in stiches with the post-match stuff. The extra Brogue Kick at the end was kind of douchy, though.
BRIE IS NIKKI’S SLAVE- good heel stuff, but why do this on the PPV? You’ve got four weeks of this to do on TV, and it is the sort of thing that gets boring pretty quickly. Why waste PPV time with this when you could use it as a great segment on Raw.
BIG SHOW vs. RUSEV (w/Lana)- 4/10
Big Show used the Haas of Pain. That was awesome.
DEAN AMBROSE PROMO- great
WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: AJ Lee(c) vs. Paige (w/Alicia Fox)- 5/10
Paige slapped Fox after the match and said that she hated her.
HELL IN A CELL MATCH: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (w/Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble)- 7.25/10
They did some stuff on top of the cage to start off, including Noble a suplex on top of the cage), and both took bumps through announce tables from about half way up the cage.
These two guys were putting on an awesome, and you really got the feeling that they wanted to kill each other…
Then they f*cked it up by having the lights go out and Wyatt Family magic bullsh*t happen. Bray attacked Ambrose, letting Rollins get the pin. It’s bullsh*t interference in a main event cage match. It basically sabotage’s this match’s (and Rollins’ and Ambrose’s) chances of standing out as breakout main event… and why? Just to start a midcard feud between guys who should be main eventers but WWE has decided to keep stuck in midcard purgatory. This whole thing was just absolutely f*cking infuriating, and it’s a damn shame, too, because the show was great, but this is the feeling that everyone will be coming out of it with.

As my friend said about the main event, this makes me want to watch the next month of Raw, so excited for Wyatt vs. Ambrose.
NWK Reviews is closed for business for now.

Really? I like both guys just fine, but,I am SOOOOO pissed about the sh*t finish to the match. They couldn't have let Ambrose win clean here and finish the feud, and have the Wyatts attack Ambrose tomorrow night on Raw?NWK2000 wrote:As my friend said about the main event, this makes me want to watch the next month of Raw, so excited for Wyatt vs. Ambrose.

This! Ambrose vs. Wyatt sounds great. I had the exact opposite reaction as BRM.NWK2000 wrote:As my friend said about the main event, this makes me want to watch the next month of Raw, so excited for Wyatt vs. Ambrose.

Re: BRM Reviews WWE Hell in a Cell 2014
you honestly think Ambrose vs Rollins will end? that feud is not ending until either Rollins cashes in or the briefcase expires...or wrestlemania.Big Red Machine wrote:Really? i thought the match was far better than cena/orton *yawn cenawinslol*, and i liked the ending, it was well executed and I felt that it elevated Bray to the main event status again, and not bring Ambrose down. The hologram was corny, but hopefully it builds to a sister abigail hologram vs tupac hologram at survivor series.
the only thing i didn't like was cole repeating over and over again that they fell from halfway the cage, way to belittle the spot cole! just say they fell on tables and died! it's not rocket science
also, i don't know what to think about Cesaro losing like that, i'm all for those finishes and ziggler winning, but i don't know where cesaro can go from a losss like that
the rest of the show was quite boring.

The hologram smackdown! Disagree. If they wanted Bray to be doing main event stuff, he would be. That, and they would have put him over Cena.cero2k wrote:you honestly think Ambrose vs Rollins will end? that feud is not ending until either Rollins cashes in or the briefcase expires...or wrestlemania.Big Red Machine wrote:Really? Of course Ambrose vs. Rollins will end for now, because Ambrose will forget all about him and suddenly focus on Bray. That's how WWE works. That's what happened with Reigns after Rollins turned on the Shield, that's what happened with Cena/Rollins after Ambrose won the pole match, and that's what will happen here.
Agreed.cero2k wrote: the only thing i didn't like was cole repeating over and over again that they fell from halfway the cage, way to belittle the spot cole! just say they fell on tables and died! it's not rocket science
Bryan Alvarez has been reporting for a few days now that Cesaro apparently said something along the lines of "watching Cena/Orton for the 9,000th time is boring" during an interview with a European magazine and speculated that he could wind up getting buried for it. And... well... 2 straight falls.cero2k wrote: also, i don't know what to think about Cesaro losing like that, i'm all for those finishes and ziggler winning, but i don't know where cesaro can go from a losss like that

of course wwe wants bray in the main event, they would want for all their guys to be at that level. thing here is that there is a main event status, then there's a john cena event status, no one goes over cena, plain and simple, even Lesnar after decimating Cena was brought down to winning due to interference, so Bray losing to him while it doesn't help, it doesn't mean he's lost. the feud with jericho and his family becoming the usos' bitches did surely hurt them.
and you're right about ambrose/rollins, i don't know why i'm defending wwe booking. but at least we can guess the final payoff will happen in the future, hopefully people are still interested in it when it comes.

But that's not what they do. They don't build people up, then feud them with Cena to make them look strong in defeat. They build people up to feed them to Cena. Look at Ryback. Look at Wade Barrett. Look at Sandow. Look at Del Rio. Look at Ziggler. They build the guys up, then fed them to Cena and didn't care about them anymore. The only exception is Del Rio, who they tried to make a top hispanic babyface, and when that didn't work, they didn't care about him. The same thing happened to Bray.
Look at the guys who have gotten over to a main event level in WWE in the past few years:
CM Punk- beat Cena in a high-profile match in a way that didn't feel like a cheap screwjob. Cena never got the win back at the end of the feud.
Daniel Bryan- got a clean win over Cena and I don't think Cena ever got the win back, either).
Brock Lesnar- got a clean win over Cena. Also, he broke The Streak.
The Shield- got a whole sh*t-ton of wins, including matches where Cena was involved.
If they wanted Bray to be at that level, they would have had him beat Cena. He didn't (that cage match bullsh*t doesn't count). They fed him to Cena, then took advantage of the rest of his heat by feeding Harper and Rowan to the Usos.
