Cero Reviews WWE Summerslam 2014

WWE Summerslam 2014
August 17, 2014
Los Angeles, CA

Hogan Promo - $9.99, not sure why I was expecting something else out of this.

Intercontinental Title Match
Dolph Ziggler vs The Miz (c) - 6/10
Good opener, announcers talked a lot about Ziggler hitting Miz's face. meh, happened on Friday anyway. Surprised with the finish, didn't think they go with that.

Brie Bella Promo - Surprisingly good, talking is not really her thing, but she did a good job. Constant volume and intonation and not a single 'bitch', way to go brie!

Divas Title Match
Paige vs AJ Lee (c) - 5/10
Good fight, but didn't like all the hair pulling, that hair looks fake, it just make it seem like the girls are wearing extensions. Awesome finish. Announcing was terrible.

Flag Match
Rusev w/Lana vs Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter 6.5/10
I was confused by the rules, but I like these rules, it avoids that stupid 'reverse flag in a pole' stipulation. Throughout the match i figured that there was no way Rusev could win, especially when Swagger locked in the ankle lock, but as soon as Rusev was out, I just knew he was gonna win. Rusev is a hell of a seller, I have noticed that during their feud, Rusev always sells a hurt ankle at the end of their matches, so kuddos to him. Loved the national anthem thing, hated how the announce team where disgusted at that, as a non-american raised, i found their reaction quite disrespectful.

Lumberjack Match
Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins 7/10
Well, this match was pretty fun and entertaining, but it made me realize how incompetent all those lumberjacks were. They have ONE JOB!! keep the wrestlers inside the ring and they (ALL) failed at it, Rollins and Ambrose made it all the way to the crowd. Now, it wasn't all bad, i figured (1) There's gonna be a 20 man brawl around the crowd!! or (2) There's gonna be a balcony spot!!! and guess what....NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENED!!! So a great match was ruined. Also, Sandow looked like a man who has lost hope in life.

Stephanie McMahon vs Brie Bella 5/10
100% predictable, but entertaining story. Steph looked great in the ring, with the exception of her selling. Brie was ok. I wished the announce team had been explained the story behind Nikki's betrayal to give us better hints, cuz they did a terrible job at it.

Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton - 5/10
I just realized that Stephanie McMahon knows more moves than Roman Reigns... Anyway, not a bad match, but surely not that amazing. From those 5/10, Orton deserves 4.99 of it, Reigns takes the 0.01 just for being there. This match also made me realize that Reigns is a terrible seller, but I can see him being great in Japan if you know what i mean.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match
John Cena vs Brock Lesnar - Squash
Ok, this is hard to review. I personally think this was the correct booking for the match, but it's a booking that will make the rest of the booking complicated for the next months. Here's the thing, Brock just decimated...DECIMATED John Cena, so if we need contenders from now until Wrestlemania, the number is somewhat limited, at least in a credible sense. The beating that Brock gave Cena makes me lose confidence that there are many that could really take it to Brock. The booking from now on will be either terrible or quite interesting for the rest of the roster.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
An ok show for WWE, lots of title changes, which I like, but wrestling wasn't outstanding; the people who had to win, won in my opinion. Surprising that Rusev/Swagger ended being the second best match of the night.

That's because they don't know why Nikki turned yet. She hasn't explained herself yet.

i do understand this, but i just disliked how the team did it. I think they should have tried to sell Nikki's face or ask what could had driven Nikki to doing that, instead they started with conspiracy theories and it got in my nerves.

I agree on that, but JBL trying to shout Cole down made it better.
