BRM Reviews the 9/10/2021 Rampage

PAC vs. ANDRADE EL IDOLO (w/Chavo Guerrero Jr.)- 7/10
We were told that the Lucha Bros. had come out with Pac but Pac sent them to the back.
The match was great, but you could tell they were holding back for the rematch. Chavo cheated to help Andrade win. Andrade found out about it afterwards from their other friend, Jose, and attacked Chavo. If this is what you were going to do with Chavo, why bring him in at all? The Lucha Bros. and Pac beat up Chavo up afterwards, too.

TONY SCHIAVONE INTERVIEWS DARBY ALLIN & STING-
They responded to Tully Blanchard, but not in a good way. Instead of dismissing the idea that Sting was riding Darby’s coattails, they called Spears and Tully hypocrites for riding other people’s coattails, too. They called out Spears and Tully. The heels were ready for this and had a plan, which was for Tully to distract the babyfaces while Spears too out Darby… and then to apparently not do anything to Sting, because it was time to cut to something else.

ADAM COLE AND BRYAN DANIELSON VIDEO PACKAGE/PROMO- very good

BRITT BAKER, JAMIE HAYTER, & REBEL vs. KRIS STATLANDER, RUBY SOHO, & RIHO- 5/10
Stuff happened. Ruby pinned Rebel.

MARK HENRY INTERVIEWS THE PEOPLE IN THE MAIN EVENT-
Apparently this is a feud that has been going on for months. Who knew?
Max Caster says that Brian Pillman Jr.’s friends won’t be at ringside with him. No explanation for why they wouldn’t be there.
Caster and Bowens were both good. Pillman Jr.’s promo felt like something from the early 90s.

BRIAN PILLMAN JR. vs. MAX CASTER (w/Anthony Bowens)- 6.25/10
Pillman Jr. overcame the interference to get the win.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- whatever
It’s not just Dynamite that has post-match attacks. Jon Moxley came out to make the save because Cincinnati. I really do want to know why Pillman Jr.’s usual crew wasn’t out here.

A meh episode of Rampage. These are beginning to feel less important.

Andrade is going to be a dud, pretty much like he was in WWE. If he didn't cross paths with Zelina, he was going to be mexican Hideo Itami who never fitted in and ending up in 205 Live limbo. Putting him with Flair isn't going to change a damn thing because he'll be now upstaged by a crazy 72yo man.

This guy just doesn't seem to translate well (no pun intended) in any NA setting. Hell, he's already kinda lost in the shuffle here after what, three months?

KENTA is a great comparison, but angry 205 Live Hideo Itami was great!
