GALLUS vs. PRETTY DEADLY & SAM GRADWELL- 3/10
Nothing interesting happened. Pretty Deadly let Gradwell get pinned and didn’t care.

NOAM DAR vs. A-KID VIDEO PACKAGE- good
This gave us some promos, but it also served the important function of reminding us that these two wrestled soon before the shutdown, and Dar cheated to beat A-Kid with a low blow.

VIDEO OF NEW SIGNEE RAMPAGE BROWN ARRIVING AT THE NXT UK PERFORMANCE CENTER- fine
They’re portraying Brown as a respected veteran on par with the trainers. Dave Mastiff made a point of coming over to shake hands with him and tell him “it’s about time” he was signed.

ALEAH JAMES vs. JINNY- no rating, good squash

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- meh
Jinny starts to cut a promo about how she is the only woman in the division with the necessary killer instinct. She mentions Piper Niven as someone who is entitled, and Piper I coming out mere seconds later. It felt like she was waiting for her cue. They had a stare-down, but then Kay Lee Ray came out also talked about Killer instinct and slid a ring into the chair and told them to show her who had the killer instinct. Jinny slammed Piper, so Piper took her down with a headbutt and a Michinoku Driver onto the chair. She picked the chair up again and was going to hit Jinny, but the jobber crawled over to her to get her to stop, so she kicked the jobber’s ass, too. She then went after Kay Lee Ray, who slipped WAY too many times while trying to get away from Piper for this to feel natural. These four did what they told to do very well, but the whole segment felt like something that was staged, with characters (and Kay Lee Ray and the jobber in particular) acting for the purpose of moving the plot in a certain direction rather than it feeling like the characters themselves had any real reason to do the things they did.

EDDIE DENNIS & THE HUNT VIDEO PACKAGE/PROMO- AWESOME!
The animalistic grunting went overboard after a while, but other than that, this rocked.

REFEREES PULL PIPER NIVEN OFF OF KAY LEE RAY- good
The important parts here were that Piper was standing tall, and that she actually got her hands on KLR’s title for a while and willingly put it down and walked away, showing that she has been in control of herself the whole time.
It was then announced that Piper would be challenging KLR for the title two weeks in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Has Piper even won a match since her clean title loss on the 9/24 show?

NXT UK HERITAGE CUP SEMIFINAL MATCH: A-Kid vs. Noam Dar- 7.75/10
This was a great match with a great come from behind babyface story. The final round tremendous.

This was a fine episode of NXT UK. They’re doing a good job of pacing out their big matches, and the stories are mostly developing well, while at least one match is getting the chance to deliver on every show. That’s pretty much exactly how you want to be doing a one-hour TV show when PPVs aren’t a consideration.
