TONI STORM vs. KILLER KELLY- 1.75/10
They let Kelly get some stuff in, but this was really just a showcase match for Toni.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- very good
Toni grabbed a microphone and was about to cut a promo but was jumped from behind by Kay Lee Ray. Piper Niven came out and chased Kay Lee Ray off. Niven extended the hand of friendship but Toni slapped it away and yelled at her before leaving.

“FLASH” MORGAN WEBSTER & MARK ANDREWS INTERVIEW- good
A follow-up to Grizzled Young Veterans’ promo from a few weeks ago about the #1 contendership match that was interrupted by Imperium and Gallus. They think they should be the #1 contenders and implore Johnny Saint to give them the chance to prove that they weren’t a “one-hit wonder” by giving them the title shot at TakeOver.

OUR CAMERAS CATCH MORE OF TONI STORM YELLING AT PIPER NIVEN BACKSTAGE- fine
Toni says that she doesn’t need Piper’s help; all she needs is her title back. She tells Piper to stay out fo her way, and Piper says fine.

THE HUNT vs. THE OUTLIERS (Riddick Moss & Dorian Mak)- 5.75/10
They got the Outliers over as big and strong and powerful, then out babyfaces made a big, exicting comeback and got the win. Good stuff.

A-KID vs. JORDAN DEVLIN- 6.5/10
A solid showing for A-Kid in defeat to Devlin. Tyler Bate came out to watch from ringside, which irritated Devlin.

JINNY & JAZZY GABERT SELFIE PROMO- good
Jinny is annoyed that Jazzy was ejected from ringside during her most recent match. She insists that things are fine between her and Jazzy. Jazzy also said so, but the fact that she cut Jinny off and then walked away seems to hint that they’re not. I really hope they don’t break these two up.

EL LIGERO vs. TRAVIS BANKS vs. JOSEPH CONNERS- 8/10
This only went ten and a half minutes, but holy crap was it awesome. They did a lot of three-way spots and a lot of creative spots, and while you can definitely criticize it for being spotty, but everything was crisp and it almost never felt like guys were purposely getting into position to do the next spot. It all felt organic and was very exciting. My favorite spot in the entire match saw Ligero hit a big move on Banks but then get grabbed by Conners who went to toss him out of the ring, but Ligero blocked it with a foot on the ropes, pushed off, and turned it into a roll-up. It was a wonderful subversion of expectations.

KASSIUS OHNO SELFIE PROMO- very good
He says he only lost to Tyler Bate because Bate got under his skin. He vows that from now on instead of the Knockout Artist, he will stick to being the more grappling-based Wrestling Genius to that he isn’t prone to making such mistakes again.

JOE COFFEY/WALTER CONTRACT SIGNING- fine, I guess
Basically, WALTER agreed to put his title on the line against Coffey in exchange for the other members of Gallus putting the tag titles on the line against Barthel and Aichner, and Ilja Dragunov agreeing to face Alexander Wolfe in a no DQs match. Coffey agreed to the first part but said he couldn’t agree to the second part because Ilja isn’t a part of Gallus. Ilja came out and agreed to it. Coffey then left and Ilja went to leave as well but WALTER called him back and told him he just made a terrible decision…
At which point Alexander Wolfe grabbed him from under the ring and Barthel and Aichner jumped the barricades and attacked Ilja. Wolfe wound up putting Ilja through the table. This all did work to establish that Ilja is not part of Gallus, but it does kind of make Gallus- who are supposed to be babyfaces- look like dicks for not coming out to help Ilja. The other downside here was that the drama between WALTER and Coffey felt empty and fake because it felt like Coffey was just yelling for the sake of yelling and getting angry for the sake of getting angry.

This was a very good episode of NXT UK, moving things along nicely and giving us an awesome match as well.
