ONEY LORCAN VIDEO PACKAGE- very good
Oney Lorcan is on 205 Live now? I guess with so many departures, plus Bennett’s losing streak storyline, they needed to call someone up to fill out space on the roster.

HUMBERTO CARRILLO PROMO- fine

WRESTLEMANIA #1 CONTENDERSHIP TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH: Oney Lorcan vs. Humberto Carrillo- 7.5/10
The story here was Lorcan going for his Half-n-Half Suplex, which Carrillo constantly managed to counter. Carrillo did Lucha but didn’t really do any high-risk maneuvers until he had the chance to go for his big moonsault… which Lorcan countered, then hit the Half-n-Half Suplex and won. The announcers pointed this reversal out after the match as a “turning point.” This finish both gives Lorcan a win that gets his finisher over while playing into the story of Gulak & Gallagher trying to take Carrillo under their wing and convince him to stop doing high-risk moves.

MIKE & MARIA MEET WITH DRAKE MAVERICK BACKSTAGE- good
Mike & Maria were under the impression that Mike would be getting a tournament match tonight but Drake points out that he never said that. Mike will be facing a “local wrestler” instead because his win-loss record was not good enough to get him into the tournament. Mike & Maria were very unhappy about this, feeling the booking was patronizing, but Drake said he was trying to help Mike get his confidence back with a probable win. Mike & Maria stormed off.

COLBY CORINO vs. MIKE KANELLIS (w/Maria Kanellis)- no rating, good segment
Mike assaulted young Colby before the bell and destroyed him to the point that the referee refused to ring the bell and the match was declared a no contest. No mention was ever made about Colby’s father being a famous wrestler.

TONY NESE SELFIE PROMO- very good
He’s wrestling Drew Gulak in the semifinals next week. He’s sounding like a complete and total babyface now and notes that Mania is in his home state. It’s actually in New Jersey, pal.

CEDRIC ALEXANDER PROMO- good

WRESTLEMANIA #1 CONTENDERSHIP TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH: Akira Tozawa vs. Cedric Alexander- 8.25/10
The standard 205 Live awesomeness. They got the crowd chanting “205!” several times, so that’s a great sign for the show as a whole. Cedric worked over Tozawa’s back and eventually got the win.

Yet another awesome episode of 205 Live, the best weekly wrestling TV show in the world.
