BRM Reviews the 9/19/2018 205 Live (awesome!)

TJP vs. LINCE DORADO- 7/10
They had a really, really strong opener that ended when TJP ripped Lince’s mask off, then rolled him up. In most places I’d complain that this should have just been a DQ, but WWE actually has a long-established history of this not being the case, so I’m fine with it. TJP then stole their noisemaker after the match and Lince chased him off.

LIO RUSH & DRAKE MAVERICK BACKSTAGE- good
Lio is trying to get out of his match with Dar next week by claiming that he is too busy managing Lashley. Drake Maverick tells him that he can do whatever he wants on Raw, but he had better fulfill his commitments on 205 Live or else he won’t get paid.

MUSTAFA ALI & DRAKE MAVERICK BACKSTAGE- fine
Ali has been medically cleared and cleared by Spud as well so he will return to action next week to get revenge on Hideo Itami.

WWE CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Cedric Alexander(c) vs. Drew Gulak (w/Jack Gallagher & Brian Kendrick)- 8.5/10
These guys had a really awesome match that managed to convince you that a title change was possible just two weeks before the much-promoted Cedric Alexander vs. Buddy Murphy title match in Australia (the idea that WWE would rather have Murphy be the full-fledged babyface in his home town against the heel Gulak rather than a slightly mixed reaction complicated by the fact that he is technically still a heel in every over market, going against babyface Cedric helped this).
Cedric retained the belt, but Gulak actually going to the top rope is an interesting spot that could be used to set something up in the future.

KAYLA BRAXTON INTERVIEWS BUDDY MURPHY- He cut a fine promo to build up to the aforementioned Cruiserweight Title match at Super Show-Down.

Yet another awesome episode of 205 Live.

Yup. The run-time was 49 minutes, and at least thirty of that was wrestling.
