JACK GALLAGHER vs. AKIRA TOZAWA- 5.75/10

TJP PROMO- great!
He was lounging around on a couch while cutting his promo. That’s different. That’s the kind of variety we need more of.

HIDEO ITAMI PROMO- good

LUCHA HOUSE PARTY PROMO- good, but managed to be not annoying.

LUCHA HOUSE PARTY (Lince Dorado & Kalisto) vs. TWO JOBBERS- great squash!
Tony Nese was supposed to face one of these guys this week, but he wasn’t able to be here for unexplained reasons. Another person who wasn’t able to be here this week was Gran Metalik, who they flat-out said was taking care of visa issues. It’s very refreshing to see the company actually be honest about something like this as opposed to just ignoring someone’s absence.
Buddy Murphy was shown watching the match backstage. Lucha House Party won in a fun squash that made them look ultra-cool. But, alas, even on 205 Live we had to have someone tell us about their support for the first-ever all-women’s PPV, but at least it was just a quick comment by Vic Joseph telling us that Kalisto supports it. Maybe we’ll get an all-Cruiserweight PPV at some point?

DREW GULAK PROMO- good
He doesn’t like the Fatal Four-Way format, but is still confident he’ll win.

MUSTAFA ALI PROMO- not good. A rare miss from Mustafa Ali.

DASHA FUENTES INTERVIEWS LIO RUSH- great heel promo by Rush. Apparently Tozawa wants a rematch with him. Lio wounds the most wonderfully obnoxious way to say that he doesn’t want to face Tozawa again because he already beat him.

FATAL FOUR-WAY #1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH: Hideo Itami vs. Mustafa Ali vs. TJP vs. Drew Gulak- 7.75/10
They had a pretty great four-way that used the complicated personal dynamics of the egos in this match as its story. They had some complicated spots that they set up well, and took their time, which is something you rarely see in a four-way, but ultimately the match felt like it was missing something to me.

A decent episode of 205 Live, which is probably the least complimentary I’ve been about the show since Triple H took over. That should tell you where my vote for Best TV Show of the Year is going in the Halfway Through the Year Awards thread (cheap plug).
