BRM Reviews the 8/31/2017 NXT

Post by Big Red Machine » Aug 31st, '17, 11:17

DUDES I CANT IDENTIFY HAVE BEEN BEATEN UP OUTSIDE- the bodies aren’t strewn in the right type of dispersion for this to have been a car accident. I feel like I was supposed to be able to tell who the victims were, but I can’t.

DREW GALLOWAY PROMO- good babyface stuff. He seems to be hoping Cole, Fish, and/or O’Reilly will show up to fight him but instead Roderick Strong comes out. They exchange mutually-admiring words in angry, intense, yelling voices.

RUBY RIOT vs. PEYTON ROYCE (w/Billie Kay)- 4/10
Maybe the match was better than this, but Billie & Peyton have such go-away heat with him. They cheated to win.

REGAL MEETS WITH OHNO- he’s got a rematch with Itami next week. He wants it to bbe no DQs so Itami can’t take the cowardly way out again. Regal agrees.

HEAYV MACHINERY vs. TWO JOBBERS- squash

RODERICK STRONG vs. BOBBY ROODE- 8/10
They told a good story with both guys working over the back and the emotion was there to an extent, but this just didn’t feel like the big blow-off that this feud truly needed… and all because the main roster got tired of Corbin and wanted to rush up someone from NXT and because Hunter wanted to rush to the FutureDRagon angle. And speaking of which, why weren’t those guys on the show?

Oh. I guess I spoke too soon. Drew McIntyre came out onto the ramp for no real reason, and then FutureDRagon jumped him on the ramp and beat him up. Regal followed them out of the building, but didn’t talk to them or anything.

This was pretty much a one-match show from NXT, which is disappointing coming out of a Takeover show when we are looking for a new status quo to be set up.

I saw Sanity shirts so that was definitely Dane and Wolfe. I also saw Polynesian style tattoos so that was also Aop.
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

That was my guess, but if they were so identifiable then I figured the announcers would have said something.

What if McGuiness ends up supporting or even managing those three Roh dudes?

Oh no no, no no. This was definitely "guys laid out so much all over the place so much , you have no idea who it is " , type of thing.

Bryan and Vinny said the shirts said "security."
