BRM Reviews the 3/15/2017 NXT

THE EALY BROTHERS vs. THE AUTHORS OF PAIN (w/Paul Ellering)- squash
Holy crap the Ealy Brothers constantly getting jumped actually led to something! It was them getting squashed in an actual match, but still… at least they got to have a match this time. They also got to cut a rather generic inset promo.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- very good
Paul Ellering cut a promo that was sooooo 1980’s. My particular favorite line was his claim to have “created the algorithm for tag team greatness.” Then DIY came out and cut a not very good promo saying that they deserve a rematch because The Revival screwed them in their last title shot. Then The Revival came out and cut an awesome promo (although the awesome part was pretty much all Dawson). Then Regal came out and booked a Triple Threat Elimination Match for the titles at Takeover: Orlando.

HEAVY MACHINERY VIDEO PACKAGE- this is so lame it’s awesome.

ASUKA VIDEO PACKAGE- this was pretty good, but Asuka is one of those characters like The Undertaker or War Machine who I never want to see in any situation where she is even remotely out of character. We should never see Asuka lounging by the pool in a sundress. We should only see her with her facepaint on and training.

MACY ESTRELLA vs. NIKKI CROSS (w/SAnitY)- squash
Cross hit her swinging neckbreaker a whole bunch of times before finally going for the pin, which she probably could have gotten after the first one.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- fine
Tye Dillinger and No Way Jose attacked SAnitY but they were quickly overwhelmed. They made Dillinger watch Eric Young hit Jose with Showtime.

FADE TO BLACK- video. Tommy End doing a Satanist gimmick? This doesn’t surprise me.

ONEY LORCAN SAVES HO HO LUN FROM ANDRADE “CIEN” ALMAS’ BULLYING- fine backstage segment.

ONEY LORCAN PROMO- He said all of the stuff you would expect from a WWE bullying angle. “I can’t stand a bully” and all of that stuff. His delivery was good, but it was hurt by the horribly cliché verbiage he was given.

KASSIUS OHNO PROMO- good

BOBBY ROODE PROMO- great!

NXT TITLE MATCH: Bobby Roode(c) vs. Kassius Ohno- 7.75/10
A very hard-hitting match with a nice clean finish, but it kind of leaves you wondering what Ohno will be doing at Takeover. My guess would be the first step of a “starting at the bottom” storyline ending in a title win some time in late fall.

A great episode of NXT.

I'm pretty sure I saw a scary dude with horns on his back, and he was standing in what appeared to be a church.

That's a common Japanese style tattoo now-a-days, doesn't really anything like that, it's quickly becoming so cliché.
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

Also, I just figured the Tommy End guy was just another typical "oh I'm so dark' type of gimmick... Wouldn't say it leaned really towards anything.

Oh yeah lol!

That's something else that struck me as sooooo odd about her....After watching how she looked and acted.... Then they said THAT... I was like...."Which of these things don't go together...."
