NJPW Best of the Super Juniors XXV: Day 6 (5/25/2018)- Osaka, Japan

BLOCK B MATCH: Marty Scurll(0) vs. Chris Sabin(2)- 7.25/10
Another great match from Sabin. Not that Scurll doesn’t deserve credit, too, but the stories of this tournament for me have been Sabin and Sho. Scurll picks up his first win of the tournament.

BLOCK B MATCH: Ryusuke Taguchi(0) vs. KUSHIDA(2)- no rating, perfect segment
If you’re going to keep shooting blanks then every once in a while you’re going to need to put an actual bullet in your gun if you want to maintain your ability to scare people.

BLOCK B MATCH: El Desperado(4) vs. Sho(2)- 4/10
El Desperado hit Sho in the knee with a chair right in front of the referee and there was no DQ. At least Sho sold it well… right up until it was time for his comeback, at which point he just stopped selling it.

BLOCK B MATCH: Hiromu Takahashi(2) vs. Dragon Lee(4)- 6.75/10
An indyriffic series of spots. You could have taken any sequence in this match, pulled it out, and then placed it in between any other two and you wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference. Also, someone please tell Dragon Lee to not let up on the winning pin at two and a half.

A disappointing show from New Japan. The booking in the KUSHIDA vs. Taguchi match was perfect, but the rest of the show was very disappointing.
