BRM Reviews NJPW G1 Climax 25: Day 5

NJPW G1 Climax 25: Day 5 (7/26/2015)- Hiroshima, Japan

HIROOKI GOTO, TIGER MASK IV, JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER, & YOHEI KOMATSU vs. MASCARA DORADA, TOMOAKI HONMA, RYUSUKE TAGUCHI, & DAVID FINLAY JR.- 4.75/10
Standard fare with this group. Everyone has their thing and does it competently.

CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN & YUJI NAGATA vs. BULLET CLUB (Cody Hall & Yujiro Takahashi)- 4.75/10

CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI) vs. BULLET CLUB (Karl Anderson & Tama Tonga)- 5.75/10

MICHAEL ELGIN & SATOSHI KOJIMA vs. CHAOS (Kazuchika Oakda & Gedo)- 6/10
Fun.

G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK A MATCH: Bad Luck Fale vs. Doc Gallows- 4/10
Why are the Bullet Club guys hitting each other with weapons? And why aren’t there any DQs for these weapon shots?

G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK A MATCH: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Toru Yano- 3.25/10
More weapon shots with no DQs. There was a surprising amount of blood here, especially considering that the blood didn’t come from the weapon shots.

G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK A MATCH: Togi Makabe vs. Katsuyori Shibata- 6/10
I was very impressed with Shibata’s ability to fight like a hoss even though he’s so lean and lanky.

G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK A MATCH: Kota Ibushi vs. AJ Styles (w/Cody Hall)- 8.25/10
Not as awesome as last time, but that would have been hard to top.

G1 CLIMAX 25 BLOCK A MATCH: Hiroshi Tanahashi VS. Tetsuya Naito- 8.25/10
Another awesome match that just beats the semi-main out for match of the night.

A two-match show. Everything else is shippable, but if you’re excited to see some great G1 action, the top two matches on this show have it.

Yeah, but after seeing Ziggler earlier this year and Nakamura in the New Japan Cup last year after Fale fell on him, it just didn't seem as bad. Maybe I'd have been more affected by it if the match was better or they used it to help the match.

i think i was just taken aback a bit since Yano is not someone that i would usually expect to see bleeding ever, it really caught me off guard. Nakamura, Ziggler, and Bryan's wrestling style is soo all over the place that I wasn't surprised that at some point it would happen.

I do agree that it could have been better used, i guess they just weren't prepared for it to happen
