What I Would Have Done with the Aces & Eights set-up

Post by Big Red Machine » Jan 23rd, '13, 18:34

I have been throwing this idea around for a few months now and, while it still isn’t fully formed, I think it is formed enough to warrant posting (and maybe someone can help me finish it, because I’m having a lot of trouble). As a result, this won’t really be about good progression of an angle so much as it will be about the story and the effects it has on both the various wrestlers on the TNA roster as well as the reaction I think it would have on the fan-base. It will be a lot more of me just saying “this is what will happen with Wrestler X” rather than writing out entire shows and PPVs like I have in the past. Because of the basis of this, I will be doing some real fantasy booking, bringing in people who are not currently under TNA contract, but are people who I think would be willing to sign with TNA, and who I think are necessary to make the angle work. The point that I am picking this up from is directly after the first Aces & Eights attack, and going forward from there, but I will try to avoid changing the direction of the company too much (aside from where it matters in this angle).

All we know so far is that a group of masked men jumped the guardrail and attacked Sting after his induction as the first member of the TNA Hall of Fame. Because they are not bikers, though, they are all different sizes. Some are tall and burly, others are shorter and thinner, with one being extremely short and thin.

I would actually do a lot of the early build similar to how TNA did it: This group of guys (usually about four or five at a time, but sometimes it is clearly different guys) is now somehow managing to sneak into the Impact Zone and every few weeks, they will jump someone. The first victim was Sting. A few weeks later, it is Hulk Hogan. Then Jeff Hardy gets attacked. Then Bully Ray. Then RVD. No matter what security measures TNA puts into place, these guys always seem to be able to slip in and out of the arena unnoticed. This should cover most of the time from Slammiversary to No Surrender.
Meanwhile, we get the same angle that we got with Hogan making Aries choose between remaining the X-Division Champion and getting a shot at Bobby Roode’s World Heavyweight Title. Aries puts up a big fight about. “If the X-Division is about ‘no limits,’ then why should its champion be limited to only holding the X-Division Title? Why can’t I be a double champion?” Aries points out that the current tag team champions are in the BFG Series, as this would theoretically allow one of them to be both tag team and World Heavyweight Champion if they win the BFG Series and win the title at BFG. He becomes even more pissed off when Daniels & Kaz receive their champion’s rematch and win the tag belts back from AJ and Angle on Impact, because Daniels is in the BFG Series, too, and accuses Hogan of favoritism.
Hogan forces Aries to make a choice, and he chooses to vacate the X-Division Title and face Bobby Roode for the TNA World Title at Destination X, which he says he will win just to stick it in Hogan’s face. Storm has been attacking Roode all month and Roode has been interfering in Storm’s BFG Series match, so the match has a stip that if James Storm interferes, he will be fired. Aries wins the TNA World Heavyweight Title cleanly, but via roll-up.

TNA holds pretty much the same tournament for the now-vacant X-Division Title. On the show that has the first two qualifying matches, we get a segment where Hogan is in his office and TNA Road Agent Pat Kenney comes up to him and suggests that Hogan use Sonjay Dutt for in the tournament. Hogan seems reluctant, but Kenney puts Sonjay over HUGE, and Hogan decides to give Sonjay a shot. The tournament results are pretty much the same, with King, Ion, Dutt, and Kash in the finals, and Ion going over after poking Sonjay in the eye when they are both crawling along the cables, causing Sonjay to fall and allowing Ion to grab the belt.

Between Destination X and Hardcore Justice we work hard to build a strong friendship/mentorship between Austin Aries and Kenny King, with Aries advocating for King to get an X-Division Title shot. Hogan puts King into a #1 contendership match, which King wins, earning himself a title shot on Impact. We then get the same build incorporating Ion and King’s feud as a part of Roode vs. Aries with Roode screwing Kenny King out of the title. This leads to King being given a title shot at Hardcore Justice.

On the third Impact after Destinatioin X when Chavo Guerrero is set to make his big debut, he is nowhere to be found. Officials rush around backstage to look for him, and they find him in his dressing room in a pool of his own blood, with a note saying “You cannot stop the ReGenesis.” As if on cue, a video appears on the PandaTron with the masked men assaulting Chavo and a distorted voice saying “The ReGenesis is coming, and there is nothing that you can do to stop it.”

The next show opens with Hogan in the production room demanding to know who played the video of Chavo getting assaulted, but the production staff all blame it on different people. Hogan gets pissed and fines them all.

Chavo’s injuries mean that his in-ring debut is forced back to Hardcore Justice. On the go-home show, we get a segment with Hogan, D’Lo, Bruce Prichard, Pat Kenney, & Al Snow discussing who they should put against Chavo tonight. Kenney suggest Sonjay Dutt, Kid Kash, or Doug Williams, but all three suggestions are shot down by the rest of the group. Hogan says that Chavo is fresh blood, so it is only fair that he be tested against more fresh blood to see how the crowd takes to both guys. They decide unanimously (although it is clear that Kenney is unhappy that all of his suggestions were shot down) on having Chavo face TNA’s newest signee… former WWE superstar Mike Knox.

We also get a short program with Devon mentoring Garrett Bischoff that culminates in Devon advocating to Hogan & co that Garrett be given a TV Title shot at Hardcore Justice.

Also at Hardcore Justice will be a rematch between Aries and Roode. The story here is based around Roode calling Aries a fluke. During this time Roode continues to try to cause Storm to lose BFG Series matches either by distracting him or by jumping him before the match or whatever. The last Impact before BFG sees Roode interfere by attacking Storm’s opponent right in front of the ref, causing Storm to be DQed and lose ten points. Roode’s efforts over the last two months have caused Storm to fall behind in the standings, although he is not as behind as he could be. The standings have been kept surprisingly even, with just about anyone having a shot at winning the whole thing (aside from Rbooi Robbie E, who is used only to make the others point totals look more respectable). Still, the loss of ten points is a big deal in such a tight race, so Storm vows more revenge against Roode, but Hogan tells him not to lay a finger on Roode either before or during the World Title match at Hardcore Justice, or else there will be consequences.

Hardcore Justice opens with Chavo demanding that the masked ReGenesis guys come and fight him like real men, rather than jumping him from behind, but they don’t show. Chavo beats Knox cleanly.
We also get mostly the same set of gimmicky BFG Series matches and have Zema Ion defeat Kenny King to retain the X-Division Title.
TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH-
Roode was about to win when James’ Storm’s music and entrance video started playing, distracting Roode enough to allow Aries to roll him up for the win. Once the bell sounds James Storm charges out of the crowd and proceeds to beat Roode down.

The build-up to No Surrender is based around a few things. The first is that ReGenesis is slightly more active. On the first Impact after Hardcore Justice, they make three different attacks: one on Sting, one on Garrett, and one on Jeff Hardy.
We also get a BFG Series match between Magnus and Anderson which goes to a draw. After the match both men are exhausted, but shake hands to congratulate each other on a hard-fight battle… when suddenly a lone chair-wielding ReGenesis guy (one we haven’t seen before… and who’s body-type bears an uncanny resemblance to Samoa Joe’s) charges down the ramp and clobbers both guys! The masked man hits both guys with the chair a few times, then gives them each a Muscle Buster before running off through the crowd.

On the second week, the show opens with Chavo coming out to the ring and demands that the masked men Chavo says he is pissed off and wants to kicked someone’s ass, so if they won’t show, he wants a match tonight to work off his aggression. Hogan comes out and says that he has just the guy in mind… The Wrestler Formerly Known as Luke Gallows, and that match will take place later tonight. Between this segment and the Chavo vs. Gallows match, the masked men jump Pope backstage, injuring him and forcing him out of the BFG Tournament. This also messes up tonight’s main event, which was supposed to be Pope & Bully Ray vs. RVD & Kurt Angle. Hogan orders the Impact Zone searched from top to bottom, but no trace of the ReGenesis guys is found.
Chavo beats Gallows clean during their match and once again demands that the masked men come out and face him, but they don’t show. Chavo says he is still hungry for action so he asks Hogan to let him replace Pope in tonight’s main event. Hogan says yes.
We also get a backstage segment with Kid Kash and Sonjay Dutt coming up to Hogan and asking him why he didn’t pick them to wrestle Chavo tonight. After all, they are both X-Division guys, just like Chavo, and they have been here for longer than Gallows has. Hogan tells them that he needed a “big” match, for Chavo and that Gallows was a better fit. This annoys Sonjay and Kash, who feel that Hogan is disrespecting them. Hogan listens to them and agrees that he may have been unfairly overlooking them, so he decides to make it up to them. He tells them to go out there and show him what they can do, and the winner of their match will receive an X-Division Title shot at No Surrender. Sonjay wins the match.

Also on this week’s show we get promos from both Anderson and Magnus accusing Samoa Joe of being their attacker from last week. When JB asks him about it these accusations, Joe denies it in as smug a manner as possible. JB points out that aside from the physical similarities and the similar choice in wrestling moves between Joe and the assailant, it is also extremely convenient for Joe that the two men attacked just happen to be two of the three men he has yet to face in the BFG Series (Kurt is the third), and the two closest behind his third place point total. Joe responds with more smug douche-baggery. Joe goes on to win his BFG Series match later that night against Magnus by capitalizing on the injury to Magnus’ neck caused by last week’s Muscle Buster and gets ten points by making Magnus tap.

The main event comes and… you guessed it, the masked men show up once again, charging out from behind the set near Taz and Tenay, and use weapons to destroy all four guys. While they do it, the same distorted voice from last week booms over the sound system, saying “You cannot stop the ReGenesis. We are just its first wave. The ReGenesis is unstoppable.”

The next show opens with Hogan once again being furious at the guys in the production truck. He fines them even more money than last time and says that the next time something like that happens, they will all be fired.

We learn that Kurt Angle will be out of action for the next week, and will return to the ring to finish up his last BFG Series match against Samoa Joe on next week’s Impact
On this week’s Impact, Joe wins his BFG Series match against Anderson by once again focusing on the neck which was injured by the Muscle Buster two weeks ago.

The second thing that the build to No Surrender focuses on is the AJ Styles vs. Daniels & Kaz feud. On the first episode of Impact after hardcore Justice it officially comes out that Claire Lynch was lying and that the whole baby thing was a lie. Kaz is absolutely furious at Daniels over this and Kaz calls AJ out to the ring to publicly apologize publicly for everything he has done over the past year. As AJ comes out, he is jumped from behind by Daniels, who was laying in wait. Daniels starts putting the boots to AJ so Kaz grabs a chair and goes to chase Daniels off… then hits AJ with the chair instead. Dixie Carter comes out and begs them to stop hurting AJ. Kaz and Daniels laugh at her, but do as she says. Walking away all smugly. Dixie grabs a mic and fires Kaz and Daniels.
On the third Impact Kaz and Daniels show up to work anyway and tell Dixie that she can’t fire them or they will walk away with the tag team titles. Daniels competes in his Final BFG Series match against Jeff Hardy and is screwed by AJ.
On the go-home show for No Surrender, Dixie says that if she can’t fire Kaz and Daniels because they are the tag team champions, then the solution is obvious: make sure that they aren’t the tag tea champions. She makes them defend the belts on Impact against the team of Knox and Gallows, whom they defeat. After that Dixie comes out and tells them that at BFG, they will defend the belts against the men who beat them back at Slammiversary: AJ Styles & Kurt Angle!
AJ & Kurt come to the ring and have a staredown with Kaz and Daniels, which eventually turns into a brawl. The babyfaces, being fresh, get the advantage, until the guy in the ReGenesis outfit who definitely isn’t Samoa Joe comes down to the ring and attacks Kurt. This leads to Kaz and Daniels getting the advantage and laying the babyfaces out. Later on in the show, Joe beats Angle in the final BFG Series match, earning himself the first-place seed.
The build to No Surrender also features the race for all important top four spots in the BFG Series. As described above, Joe is the first seed. The race is tight, but the other three spots are filled out by RVD, Jeff Hardy, & Mr. Anderson. Bully Ray had already been mathematically eliminated, so he wound up in a feud with Devon over the TV Title, but still finished up his BFG Series match, losing to James Storm on the third Impact after Hardcore Justice.
Storm had been screwed by Roode so many times that he was eliminated early on in the month, too, but rather than chasing a title, he spent his time trying to get revenge on Roode, jumping him on both of the first two Impacts. On the third Impact Roode brought out some lawyers and, using Storm’s attacks on him, Kaz & Daniels ambushing AJ, and the multiple ReGensis attacks from the last two weeks as proof, demonstrated that TNA is putting him in an unsafe work environment. Roode used the threat of a lawsuit as leverage to get Hogan to agree to give him one more chance at Aries’ title at No Surrender in a Steel Cage match and, just as extra insurance, to decree that Storm can’t touch him anymore or he will be fired. On the fourth week of TV, we get a contract signing, and once Storm has signed the contract, Roode begins to antagonize him by saying all sorts of horrible things about Southern people, which Storm is just forced to sit there and take. Afterwards, Hogan tells Storm he was very impressed by his self control, and as a result of that and beating the #1 contender to the TV Title, Bully Ray, last week, he has decided to reward Storm by making the TV Title match at No Surrender a Triple Threat match.

The go-home show closes with us finding Hogan knocked out backstage and a note taped to his body indicating that ReGenesis will be at No Surrender.

No Surrender:
As the show starts, we are informed that Sting, who is running things in Hogan’s absence, has the Impact Zone under total lockdown.
BFG SERIES SEMIFINAL MATCH: Samoa Joe def. Mr. Anderson

BFG SERIES SEMIFINAL MATCH: Jeff Hardy def. RVD
ReGenesis (minus the guy who looks and fights suspiciously like Joe) jump both guys. By the time they are chased off by security Jeff has beaten down hard but RVD is bleeding badly and needs to go to the hospital.

We get a backstage segment with Sting ordering that every inch of the building be searched. He wants this ReGenesis crap ended TONIGHT!

KO’S TITLE MATCH- whatever happens, happens. I just need a placeholder match for this card.
Jeff Hardy cuts a promo telling us that despite ReGenesis’ best efforts, he will be able to complete in BFG Series finals tonight. He might be banged up, but he doesn’t want to let the Creatures of the Night down.

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Zema Ion(c) vs. Sonjay Dutt-
Sonjay wins clean to become the new X-Division Champion

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Bad Influence(c) def. AJ STYLES & KURT ANGLE TO RETAIN-
Daniels pins AJ with his feet on the ropes for illegal leverage.

TRIPLE THREAT ELIMINATION MATCH FOR THE TNA TV TITLE: Devon(c) vs. Bully Ray vs. James Storm-
We get a ref bump and a series of moves that results in James Storm being the only one up. Roode comes out from the crowd and hits Storm with a Spear, then rolls Bully Ray’s body on top of Storm. Roode wakes the ref up and the ref makes the three count, eliminating Storm. Bully and Devon wrestle to a clean finish, with Bully winning the title. After the match, Bully offers Devon a handshake. Devon is tentative and mistrustful. Just when it looks like Devon is about to shake Bubba’s hand, ReGensis (once again without Definitely-Not-Joe) hops the barricade and jumps both guys, beating them both down before they are run off by a weapon wielding group of TNA guys, including Kurt, Anderson, Jeff, Sting, and Chavo. Bubba seems to be banged up after the beatdown, but Devon took a sick-looking Flip Piledriver from the second rope and needs to be stretchered off.

CHAVO GUERRERO JR def. GUNNER
After the match, Chavo gets on the mic and says that he will make sure that ReGenesis don’t ruin the BFG Series Finals by sitting at ringside to fight them off if they show up.

We get a backstage promo from Roode where he congratulates himself on his genius. The contract said that Storm couldn’t touch him… but not that he couldn’t touch Storm. Now Roode their feud is over and he has had the last laugh!

BFG SERIES FINALS: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe.
True to his word, Chavo is at ringside to protect the match, and he is joined by Sting. During the match, after Jeff hits a big move, the ReGenesis guys show up. They fight through Sting and Chavo and then knock the ref down. They jump into the ring and Jeff valiantly charges at the whole group of them, but is beaten down. They then approach the downed Joe but the cavalry arrives in the form of Sonjay Dutt, Kid Kash, and Pat Kenney, all armed with chairs, and closely followed by Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Garrett Bischoff, AJ Styles, Mr. Anderson, Magnus, and a few others.
With ReGenesis successfully chased off, the match continues and Joe has the advantage but Jeff manages to catch him a backslide out of the Muscle Buster and get the win.

STEEL CAGE MATCH FOR THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE- THERE WILL BE NO REMATCHES: Austin Aries(c) vs. Bobby Roode-
Aries beats Roode clean, with his finishers, to prove that he is not a fluke.

The first Impact after No Surrender has Joe admitting that he was the guy who attacked Angle, Magnus and Anderson, and asking each of them for forgiveness. He says that he didn’t realize how serious this who ReGenesis thing was until he was staring the danger right in the face, and it was wrong of him to try to use it for his own ends. He offers each of them rematches for the BFG Series matches that he had an unfair advantage during. He loses to Anderson one week and beats Magnus another week. His rematch with Kurt is signed for Bound For Glory.

We get more build-up to ONE FINAL MATCH between AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels. Anderson gets built up and earns a TV Title shot against Bully Ray. Storm and Roode build up to their epic blowoff at BFG by having someone find a loophole in Roode’s contract nullifying that “Storm can’t touch Roode” clause because Roode touched Storm first, then the feud explodes in a whole new frenzy of violence. Aries & Hardy have the same build to their match that we got from TNA this year, the Al Snow-Joey Ryan thing goes the same, and Chavo will face Kaz in a random match. On the go-home show, RVD returns from his injuries suffered at the hands of ReGenesis and says that Hogan (also recovered from his injuries) has granted him an X-Division Title shot. Sonjay tells him to bring it on.

Also, over the course of the past two months, it seems that certain guys are being phased out of the TV show. Guys like Hernandez or Doug Williams or Kid Kash, who used to get one or two TV matches a month are now totally absent from TV, replaced with the likes of Mike Knox, Luke Gallows, Chavo Guerrero, Garrett Bischoff, Kenny King, Zema Ion, Gunner, etc.

Despite being called out multiple times every week, ReGenesis are nowhere to be found. This lets us focus in on the “investigation” into this mystery of who they are, as the Flip Piledriver that put Devon on a stretcher gives us our first clue as to who might be part of this group. Every week, guys call Petey Williams out. Petey never shows up, but constantly protests his innocence in his Twitter and on Youtube. Someone speculates that ReGenesis have been getting to the building and avoiding detection by having inside help, so Sting starts questing known friends of Petey’s: Random backstage people, Eric Young, Bobby Roode, Kazarian, Christopher Daniels… even AJ Styles, despite Dixie’s constant assurances that AJ is innocent (Dixie’s constant defending of him really seems to be annoying AJ, and he finally shouts at her that he doesn’t need her to defend him).
On the go-home show, the PandaTron once again plays a mysterious message from ReGenesis saying that, at BFG, they will reclaim the glory that is rightfully theirs, and won’t let “the crown jewel” fall into enemy hands.

BOUND FOR GLORY (in no particular order, aside from the last three)
ONE FINAL MATCH: AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels (Kaz is barred from ringside)
-Daniels def. AJ when Dixie Carter, who had come out to cheer for AJ, becomes a distraction. Daniels went to the outside and was about to hit Dixie when AJ dove to the outside to make the save, but, in doing so, hurt his leg. Daniels capitalized on this injury and won the match.

SAMOA JOE vs. KURT ANGLE- someone wins cleans. All that matters is that the match is hard-fought and gets a lot of time, and we get a handshake afterwards.

TNA TV TITLE MATCH: Bully Ray(c) vs. Mr. Anderson-
Anderson wins clean

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Sonjay Dutt(c) vs. Rob Van Dam-
After about fifteen minutes, RVD gains control of the match. Things start looking bad for Sonjay when Van Dam set him up for some sort of big vertical suplex-type move… but RVD catches sight of some ReGenesis guys coming through the crowd, so rather than go for the maneuver he intended to hit, he quickly cinches in a small package and gets the win right before ReGenesis can yank the ref out of the ring. The ReGenesis guys start beating RVD down when Sting, Angle, Joe, Chavo, and Bully go to make the save, but then another masked ReGenesis guy jumps the guardrail. One with a very familiar-looking seven foot tall body and who throws a very familiar-looking running big boot that takes the TNA guys down, and allows ReGenesis to escape with the X-Division Title belt.

SUPER NO DQ’S GRUDGE MATCH: James Storm vs. Bobby Roode- pretty much exactly what they gave us, with Storm getting the win.

TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Austin Aries(c) vs. Jeff Hardy-
Hardy wins clean.

The next night on Impact Hogan and Sting demand that Matt Morgan, Petey Williams, and the rest of this ReGenesis group give the X-Division Title belt back to its rightful owner, RVD. They also interrogate Sonjay about the whole thing because it looked like ReGenesis wanted to help him retain the title. Sonjay says he has no idea. Hogan doesn’t believe him and they threaten him, but Pat Kenney comes into the room and tells them to bugger off. It is clear that poor Sonjay doesn’t know anything more than they do about this.
There is also a segment where AJ blames Dixie Carter for his loss to Daniels. He then proceeds to lay the blame for a whole lot more things at her feet, too. He says that he wanted to deny the accusations of that they were having an affair, and that he thought that Dixie’s whole belief that denying that they were having an affair would somehow lead to the exposure of Claire’s identity and problems was utterly moronic, but he did things her way because she was the boss. And now, because of her, Daniels is never going to shut about how he beat AJ and AJ will never be able to beat him again. AJ angrily storms off, while Dixie cries.

The next week Garrett Bischoff, Samoa Joe, Mike Knox, Luke Gallows, Chavo Guerrero Jr, and a few recently-hired production guys are all found laid out backstage at various points during the show, all with notes on them saying “You cannot stop the ReGenesis.” The closing segment has Hogan, Sting, Angle, RVD, and Bully Ray go out to the ring and call out ReGenesis, demanding that they not be coward… when someone hacks into the feed on the PandaTron, and we are connected, via satellite, to Matt Morgan, who makes some demands of his own. He says that the attacks will not stop until Hogan, Sting, and Dixie agree to give ReGenesis “the things that rightly belong to them… starting with %50 control of the company!” The babyfaces think this is ridiculous and ask for time to think it over. Morgan gives them one week. The next week we get a segment where Dixie convinces Sting and Hogan that they can’t keep going on putting innocent people in harm’s way. Nothing they have done over the past few months has stopped the attacks. They need to give in to ReGenesis’ demands. Later in the night, the PandaTron feed is once again hacked and Morgan demands an answer from Sting, Dixie, and Hogan. Sting and Hogan come out and tell Morgan that ReGenesis should prove that they deserve these things that they claim are rightfully theirs! Morgan agrees, and they make a ten man tag team match for turning point with 50% of TNA on the line. In exchange, Morgan says ReGenesis will bring the X-Division belt to Turning Point, but only on the condition that Sonjay gets his rematch at that show.

The go-home show features Team TNA being selected (Sting, Chavo, Bully, Kurt, & Joe), and also sees Sting and Hogan once again interrogate Sonjay, only for him to claim innocence. ReGenesis jump Hogan backstage, and a message plays on the PandaTron claiming that this PPV will be the most important “Turning Point” in TNA history.

TURNING POINT:
TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH: Rob Van Dam(c) vs. Sonjay Dutt-
Sonjay wins after Matt Morgan hits RVD with a Carbon Footprint, allowing Sonjay to get the win and regain the X-Division Title.

50% OF TNA IS ON THE LINE: Team TNA (Sting, Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Samoa Joe, & Chavo Guerrero Jr.) vs. ReGenesis (Matt Morgan & four masked guys).
The finish comes when Sting, the babyface in peril, is about to make a hot tag when Samoa Joe suddenly drops off of the apron and starts hitting his own teammates with low blows, preventing Sting from making the tag. The match breaks down as ReGenesis & Joe beat the guys on the outside down while all taking turns hitting Sting with their finishers: A Carbon Footprint from Morgan, a Canadian Destroyer (complete with Petey’s hand-sign this time), an Infrared, whatever the fourth guys’ finish is, depending on who you can get- worst comes to worst, it is Kid Kash, but at best it could be Chris Harris, or even Monty Brown, if they are willing to come back), a Muscle Buster from Joe, and last but not least… The Stroke by Jeff Jarrett, who pins Sting and regains fifty control of TNA.

From here the angle is basically that Jarrett wants his company back and that this whole ReGenesis thing was a secret plan that he and Pat Kenney came up with in case Hogan and Bischoff ever tried to screw him out of power during the whole Immortal thing (which he only did get his company back from Dixie, whom he feels had muscled him out of power at every opportunity, starting back in 2005 when they started bringing in outside talent like Rhino, the Dudleys, Christian, and Sting to “take the spots” of established TNA guys [connecting this to an angle from seven years ago! So this is how Quack must feel when he books things!]).
The angle will get shoot-y and play off of the whole “we are tired of these WWE rejects!” feeling that some TNA fans have. By keeping Jarrett’s group underhanded, it allows them to be heels… but heels with a purpose who took what they believed was the only possible route to fulfilling their righteous cause (getting enough control of TNA back in Jeff Jarrett’s hands that he can prevent everything the wrestlers and the fans loved about it from being lost)… so are they really heels? It all depends o your point of view.
Imagine the reaction this Jeff Jarrett promo trying to convince TNA originals to side with him would get:
“You don’t think Dixie and Hogan will replace you? Look around! Where were Amazing Red and Petey Williams before I brought them back? Where is Alex Shelley right now? I don’t see Jay Lethal around here, do you? Where is Ron Killings? Where is Angelina Love? Where is Awesome Kong? They’ve all been replaced by less talented cast-off from other organizations!”

Jarrett says that firing TNA-original Sonjay Dutt and Petey Williams in the first place was a Dixie Carter idea, and that Dixie then tried to get rid of other guys who were first able to make a name for themselves in TNA, like Matt Morgan.

I think the part so the roster involved with this angle can be pretty well separated into “Dixie/Hogan guys” and “Jarrett guys,” with a few in a category I will call “other.” The others are essentially free agents, some of who will be sought-out and recruited, other will not. The parts of the roster not involved with this such as the KO’s can just ignore it completely, and titles only have to be involved in the angle if they are held by someone in either camp. Austin Aries, for example, would be an “other” who is sought after by both sides. Dixie, Sting, and Hogan will tell Aries that he achieved his greatest success in TNA while under their watch, while Jarrett will tell him that he succeeded DESPITE Dixie, Sting and Hogan, not because of them, and Jarrett can tell Aries that his firing in 2007 was Dixie’s idea and that he was powerless to stop it. Another “other” would be Anderson, who knows that he is talented enough to earn a job form whoever comes out on top in the end and who, being an asshole, will only do that which is best for him- i.e. side with whoever gives him what he wants.
The there is the fourth and most important category: The TNA Mainstays. Obviously, for this to work, the TNA mainstays cannot be ignored: Joe I have dealt with by putting him with Jarrett, with Joe’s reasoning being that he has been marginalized and not gotten the opportunities he has deserved once Dixie started taking more complete control of the company in the Summer of 2009 (and image Jarrett’s angry promo about how he was muscled out of his own company just because he found love again with the estranged wife of one of Dixie’s big-name bring-ins!) Aside from Joe, there are five guys on the roster who I think fall into this category (well… six if you count Sabin, but he is hurt): AJ, Storm, Roode, Kaz, & Daniels. These guys have to be a major focus of the angle, and who they choose to side with needs to be a suspenseful plot-thread because not only are they big names, but they also represent the heart and soul of TNA, and thus their endorsement should win a lot of support for their chosen side.
Kaz and Daniels I would have as a unit, and I would keep them neutral at first, defending their tag team titles. They know that Jarrett will protect them from Dixie firing them because of their TNA Original status, but they are still jerks and will play the two sides against each other for whatever advantage they can get. Dixie’s desire to fire them mean that they must eventually side with Jarrett, but that doesn’t have to be for a while, and they can be dicks to Double J about it to get heat.
You can’t mention Kaz and (especially) Daniels without mentioning AJ Styles. AJ was the very first person signed to a TNA contract, so he is obviously important to Jarrett, but there has also been shown to be a strong bond between AJ & Dixie over the years (which I tore apart to make this more suspenseful, as I don’t see AJ taking too kindly to the way that Jeff went about doing this whole thing). I would have Joe talk to AJ on Jarrett’s behalf and have Dixie and Sting talk to AJ on their own behalf. I would eventually have Joe convince AJ to side with Jarrett.
But AJ, Jarrett, Morgan, & Joe (and, ideally, Monty Brown) is not enough starpower to match up with Sting, RVD, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Bully Ray (& when Devon gets back from his kayfabe injuries, the stage is set for a possible Team 3-D reunion), so Jarrett will want more starpower. He knows that, being a tag team, Kaz & Daniels will likely come as a package deal, so to get them, he pulls an ace out of his sleeve. He brings back the TNA’s original Knockout: Traci Brooks. Kaz’s wife.
At this point Kaz and Daniels can’t not side with Jarrett… which brings them on the same side as AJ, which will piss AJ off. Can Joe and Jarrett make peace between them and get them to work together, or is the damage to their friendship irreparable? Does this drive AJ out of Jarrett’s camp and into Dixie’s?

Storm and Roode have essentially the same issue. Neither man will want to work together. Roode is a heel and will work for whoever he thinks will benefit him most, while Storm, a babyface, is torn between his loyalty to Jarrett and the loyalty that Sting has earned from him over the past year and a half… and his desire to fight Roode, no matter what side Roode is on. I’m not sure who winds up where, but if you could bring Chris Harris back for this, I think it would be cool to either have them occasionally team up as AMW or to have Harris work with Roode against Storm.

I think, in the end, Aries would wind up on Jarrett’s side, with Jarrett’s sale pitch involving Aries being the “new AJ.” Aries today is an example of what Jeff was looking for ten years ago when he signed AJ to be his franchise player, while Dixie, Hogan, & Sting wind up drawing Kenny King to their side to feud with Aries, which should elevate King.

Like I said, I’m not sure how this turns out or how to blow it off, but I think it would be a great story to tell, and would be much better than what TNA did with this same premise.

General gist is as follows:
Aces & Eights (I am calling them ReGenesis) is a secret society of guys/failsafe plan formed by Jeff Jarrett and Pat Kenney during the planning stages of the Immortal takeover in case Hogan & Bischoff tried to screw Jarrett out of power. It is made up of "TNA originals," meaning either guys were were with TNA from early on, or guys who might have worked in WWE, but their full potential wasn't realized until they came to TNA (both guys now on the current roster, like Samoa Joe, Kid Kash, Matt Morgan, and Sonjay Dutt, as well as some bring-ins who I think would be willing to come back like Amazing Red, Petey Williams, Chris Harris, and maybe even Monty Brown). Jarrett feels that Dixie muscled him out of control of the company that he founded and he wants control of it back, so he uses underhanded tactics (jumping guys backstage, having Joe betray Team Dixie/Hogan/Sting in a big match for 50% control of the company, etc) to get it.
ReGenesis would attack former WWE guys who they claim have been "taking their spots" (which calls back to Jeff Jarrett's angle back in 2005 when guys like Rhino, the Dudleys, and Christian first started joining TNA). Guys like RVD, Angle, Chavo, Hardy, as well as guys who they think have been promoted through nepotism (GARRETT!). AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Kaz, & Daniels would all remain in the middle, with especially AJ and Storm (but also Roode) being courted by both sides. AJ would eventually join with Jarrett's faction, but would get pissed off at them when Jarrett tries to bring in Kaz & Daniels, too. Roode and Storm would do a similar thing where they want to help whatever side they are on, but don't want to work with each other.

Hm,Obvious choice is a classic 100 % power thing maybe, and even more maybe,,,Somehow...Someway...Have some kind of stip where the "Newer" guys,I.E,the Unoriginals ....Have to earn the spot they're in.... Similar to how AJ and Co did...Basically "You wanna take our spots? You EARN it,just like we did." but idk.

Yeah. I know what the results of the angle would be, I just don't know how to get there. I would definitely have Jarrett's side get the win, though.

good read Red, I do have to say that this is like a well booked MEM/Frontline storyline.
Big Red Machine wrote: But AJ, Jarrett, Morgan, & Joe (and, ideally, Monty Brown) is not enough starpower to match up with Sting, RVD, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Bully Ray (& when Devon gets back from his kayfabe injuries, the stage is set for a possible Team 3-D reunion), so Jarrett will want more starpower.
Does this drive AJ out of Jarrett’s camp and into Dixie’s?
you're forgetting one of JJ's biggest ace, one that is definitely a TNA Mainstay and could counter anything that Hogan could bring to the table. Abyss!!

Well,Have Jarret abuse the 50 % power he wins when Joe betrays those guys to the point where "We need to get to a point where we can have full control to make sure this chicanery stops. Jarrett you abuse what power you have so much we need to take it from you for our own safety and well being." Just like that.

That is fine when you want one clear heel and one clear babyface, but for something like TNA Originals vs. New Guys who are also very popular, I think that not having a clear heel works better. Jarrett might be a bit more underhanded, but I think that a lot of fans would be on his side, emotionally, at least.

That's what I hate about angles like this...When the heels,or in this case,What are perceived as heels by the common fan...Are right...Even when we did something similar in WWR ages ago..."The Origin." "We created the place you're in alone and without you so what gives you right to be here?".....Its always seems like something's backward.

I think that in this situation you can make it work, though, as Jarrett and co. don't really have to be heels. They start off by being underhanded only because it is the only option they have, and they feel justified because Jarrett believes that Dixie was underhanded when she muscled him out of ownership of the company.
