BRM Reviews the 9/26/2011 Raw

OPENING SEGMENT- I LOVED IT! They make you like Hunter sticking it to the heels… but at the same time, you could definitely see it as Hunter letting personal feelings get in the way of business.

10 MAN OVER THE TOP BATTLE ROYAL FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE: Cody Rhodes(c) vs. Sin Cara vs. Sheamus vs. John Morrison vs. Ezekiel Jackson vs. Alex Riley vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Justin Gabriel vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Ted Dibiase Jr- 6/10. Told a few good stories.

OTUNGA & JOHNNY ACE BACKSTAGE- Good

DIVAS OF DOOM vs. KELLY KELLY & EVE TORRES- 3/10. Not good or exciting, but it got across the important point (that Beth has now pinned the champ).

MARK HENRY vs. THE GREAT KHALI- No rating- Great segment.
The announcer’s say that Khali has gotten rid of Jinder Mahal’s sway over him… How? By beating him up? That will just make Mahal angry, and the whole angle was that Mahal is married to Khali’s sister, and will divorce her, leaving her impoverished, if Khali doesn’t obey him. So how does beating Mahal up help?


JOHN CENA PROMO- lackluster at the beginning, but a strong finish

JOHN CENA vs. CHRISTIAN- No rating- good segment. Del Rio gets heat on both Punk and Cena, and Punk becomes more of a babyface without intentionally doing anything to help Cena.

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. Zack Ryder- 4/10.

AIR BOOM & ZACK RYDER vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER & JACK SWAGGER (w/Vickie Guerrero)- 3/10. Good match with an incredibly stupid finish. Mason Ryan as a babyface makes NO SENSE! The man is a monster with no mic skills! Make him a heel with Vickie as his mouthpiece!

HEELS BACKSTAGE- Good. Otunga sounds a lot more natural here than he has on the mic in the ring as an arrogant heel.

CM PUNK vs. ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- 7.25/10

AFTERMATH- action-wise, it was good, but I don’t get the whole mystery part. What could anyone have to gain by locking these three guys in a cell now?

Overall, this episode of Raw wasn’t too good.
