This! Things don't "break" like that, it was a work. The springs in the mat would have gone before the posts did.cero2k wrote:2) The way it breaks, having only two ring posts (ones shown in the camera BTW) and neither of them shooting out due to the tension in the ring ropes. a simultaneous break of both posts.
Was the Lesnar - Big Show Ring Collapse Legit?

ALSO... the two posts closer to the point of impact would be most likely to break. NOT the opposite side, that just so happens to be a good angle for the hard camera.Bob-O wrote:This! A work... not 100% on that, but over 90% anyways. Just about anything "groundbreaking" 8-| that happens in wrestling is a work. Quite likely, this is as well.
Re: Was the Lesnar - Big Show Ring Collapse Legit?
Work. Looks a bit TOO perfect. The cameramen all were conveniently in places where they weren't gonna be hurt by the ring collapsing, such as a cameraman that had been filming through the ropes could have easily had something collapse on his foot. As for them rigging the ring before the match, it's not too hard to think that they used some sort of remote control release mechanism on those two ring posts, is it?

Interesting. Yesterday we were all discussing the same thing re: announce tables.kiel297 wrote:As for them rigging the ring before the match, it's not too hard to think that they used some sort of remote control release mechanism on those two ring posts, is it?

I've been training in a ring for several weeks, and I find it difficult to believe that one would just naturally break in that way.

Can I throw out a suggestion that lies between the two extremes: That the ring was poorly built (by accident).

I highly doubt it considering it's WWE.Big Red Machine wrote:Can I throw out a suggestion that lies between the two extremes: That the ring was poorly built (by accident).
