Random Wrestling Quotes in Our Collective Consciousness

Post by Big Red Machine » Mar 28th, '18, 14:00

What are the random wrestling quotes that have entered the wrestling zeitgeist? I'm not talking about catchphrases or taglines or even the big conclusions to famous promos like Austin 3:16, or something we remember for being dumb like Hogan in the Dungeon of Doom's cave or "spin the wheel, make the deal!" I'm talking about lines that have basically become so well known that if you just say that quote, 99% of fans will immediately be able to picture the exact segment in their heads. Like saying "Austin and the beer truck," but with an actual quote instead. Something along the lines of "IT'S ME, AUSTIN!" or "Where to, Stephanie?"

Other than those, the only ones I can really think of is Shane Douglas' "Hey, Brian Pillman!" or "THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE!"

"the numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice" by Steiner, but the whole promo is pretty memorable.

Also, J.R.'s immortal "they don't even wrestle here!" when the Original Midnight Express & Paul E. attack Cornette, Lane, & Eaton.

Steiner is full of them, but the one that stands out for me is "I'm Hungry!"

LOL I forgot about that one.

I should also add Hogan's famous "It's The Wall, brother!"

"Y'all the rudest people on Earf"- said by my friend Connor and I to each other whenever anything remotely rude is said, quote originally by Barry Stevens, the first guy Ryback squashed.

"Today I proved that at any time...."- Again, between me and Connor, whenever we do anything absurd and are proud of it, said originally by Vince Russo.

For real? This doesn't instantly ring a bell?

Lol, that supposedly 7'7 brown paper towel mummy that was frozen in ice, from The Dungeon Of Doom? Who, for some reason was called a yeti instead.

It does, but it's something they said over and over. When someone says "Yet-Tay!" you don't think of one specific moment in time. You just think of Ron Reiss and WCW's incompetent announcing. It's not like "IT'S THE WALL, BROTHER!" where your mind immediately goes to Hogan and Gene in the ring and then the pan to The Wall standing on top of a roof far in the distance.
