Raw ranked seventh for the night on cable, only trailing NFL-related programming.

Due to a huge increase in the 18-34 demo, particularly with men, Raw on Monday did not come close to its all-time low even against tough NFL playoff competition.

Monday's Raw averaged 1.61 million viewers and drew an 0.43 rating in 18-49. The show was down one percent in viewers but up 10 percent in 18-49.

Viewership was way down among teenagers, but a 29 percent increase in 18-34 as compared to last week against the college football championship game led to the overall 18-49 increase.

Raw placed seventh for the night, behind only NFL-related programming, and beating the NBA on TNT.

Between ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2 (which featured Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with the Manning brothers on the simulcast), the Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals game did 23.02 million viewers and drew a 5.92 in 18-49. Last week's college football championship game did 22.6 million viewers and a 6.30 in 18-49. The NBA on TNT did 908,000 viewers and a 0.36. Below Deck did 1,265,000 viewers and a 0.35.

Raw was seventh in women 18-49, seventh in men 18-49, seventh in 18-34, sixth in women 12-34, and eighth in men 12-34.

Many considered this a week that AEW would beat Raw due to the competition . While not impossible, as AEW did an 0.43 two weeks ago, it would be unexpected since the show two weeks ago had a far stronger lineup. The main hooks for Wednesday would appear to be the returns of Jon Moxley and Cody Rhodes and if the idea of Adam Cole & Britt Baker as a tag team can elevate numbers.

As compared to one year ago, which had no football competition so the comparison is heavily misleading, Raw was down 13 percent in viewers, down 28 percent in 18-49, and down roughly identical in 18-34.

ShowBuzz Daily listed Raw as sixth in total viewers for the night, its best showing in a long time. Only Rachel Maddow and NFL-related shows finished ahead. But ratings for Fox News' Monday programming aren't yet available, so the rankings are incomplete. Raw usually finishes behind multiple Fox News shows and maybe another one or two news shows along with NFL related shows but beats everything else in total viewers on Monday night.

As far as how the Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley main event maintained viewers, the first-to-third hour decline was 16 percent, the largest in months.

By demo, the first-to-third hour decline was 21 percent with women 18-49, nine percent with men 18-49, 19 percent with teenage girls, there was a three percent gain with teenage boys, and an 11 percent drop with people over 50.

The three hours were:

8 p.m. 1.73 million viewers
9 p.m. 1.65 million viewers
10 p.m. 1.46 million viewers
