Sports website Outkick reported Wednesday that Renee Young is leaving WWE.
PWInsider later confirmed the report, adding she gave her notice a week ago. There is no date for when she is finishing up with the company, nor where she might be going, but she is expected to be working SummerSlam this weekend. Our Dave Meltzer has independently confirmed the news as well.
The 34-year-old Canadian was signed by WWE in 2012 after working with what is now SportsNet 360 on Right After Wrestling (later called Aftermath), a pro wrestling show with Mauro Ranallo, Arda Ocal, and Jimmy Korderas.
She has done a myriad of on-screen work in her eight years with WWE including commentating, backstage interviewing, and as a host for studio shows like WWE Backstage and various pre/post shows. She became the first woman to do commentary for an entire episode of Raw in 2018, a role she took on full-time until being moved to SmackDown in October 2019 as a special contributor. She also handled commentary duties on NXT and Superstars during her WWE career.
Young, who is married to AEW's Jon Moxley, announced in July that she is writing a cookbook The two live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
