ANDRADE OFF WWE WRESTLEMANIA 36 DUE TO INJURY, REPLACEMENT SET

The following contains spoilers for WWE WrestleMania.

Due to an injury, Andrade won't be part of the Raw Tag Team title match at WrestleMania 36.

PWinsider reported Friday that Andrade wasn't cleared to wrestle at WWE's WrestleMania tapings due to what is believed to be a rib injury. Andrade & Angel Garza had been scheduled to challenge The Street Profits for the tag titles at the show.

PWInsider's report stated that the title match instead took place with The Street Profits facing Angel Garza and a partner from NXT. Post Wrestling reported that Austin Theory was the wrestler who replaced Andrade in the match and an angle to introduce him as Andrade's replacement is expected to air on Monday's Raw.

Dave Meltzer also confirmed the injury and replacement.

Post Wrestling also wrote that the injury Andrade suffered was described to them as "very minor."

Andrade is also WWE's current United States Champion. It appeared that WWE had been building up a title match between him and Rey Mysterio for WrestleMania, but Meltzer reported that Mysterio "had symptoms and stayed in California and quarantined himself." Meltzer added that there's no indication that Mysterio has the coronavirus and it was just a matter of being cautious.

Mysterio defeated Andrade in a non-title match on the March 16 episode of Raw while on this past Monday's Raw, Andrade & Garza defeated Ricochet & Cedric Alexander.

Editor's Note: The following includes spoilers for WrestleMania.

The coronavirus epidemic not only forced WWE to move WrestleMania 36 to their Orlando, Florida, based Performance Center but also wreaked havoc on their efforts to do the show they initially wanted this week.

News began to spill out earlier this week that both Rey Mysterio and Dana Brooke were off the plans for the show due to self quarantining and Thursday night, word broke that Roman Reigns decided to not go through with his match against WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg despite being in the building.

On Friday, The Miz was confirmed as being pulled off the show due to illness which nullified the planned SmackDown tag team title defense. However, our Dave Meltzer is reporting that Miz's partner John Morrison will face one of the Usos in a ladder match instead.

Meltzer didn't know whether there was any stipulation associated with the match nor which Usos brother competed against Morrison which could come as early as tonight's edition of SmackDown.

Other news:

Despite reports otherwise, Asuka and Cesaro both worked WrestleMania with no health issues.
Edge vs. Randy Orton was successfully taped this week.
Meltzer confirmed PWInsider's report earlier Friday that Buddy Murphy was indeed sick and didn't come to the TV tapings this week. Meltzer added that no one sick was allowed around, even if they had a cough or a stuffy nose.

ZAYN VS. BRYAN, OTIS VS. ZIGGLER SET FOR WWE WRESTLEMANIA 36

Daniel Bryan challenging for the Intercontinental title is officially part of the WrestleMania 36 card.

As a stipulation of Drew Gulak defeating Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown tonight, Bryan is challenging Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania. The show was taped earlier this week and will air on the WWE Network on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.

Gulak pinned Nakamura in their match on SmackDown after Bryan pulled Gulak away from a Kinshasa.

Zayn won the Intercontinental title earlier this month when he teamed with Nakamura & Cesaro and defeated Braun Strowman in a three-on-one handicap match.

Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler was also officially set up for WrestleMania 36 on SmackDown tonight. Otis tried to confront Ziggler backstage but was held back. Ziggler challenged Otis to face him at WrestleMania -- with Mandy Rose in Ziggler's corner. Otis then accepted the challenge.

There was another segment later tonight where Ziggler and Rose spoke backstage. Rose said she supports the match, but she refuses to let Ziggler and Otis fight over her like she's some sort of prize.
