Jushin Thunder Liger will be in action at NJPW's Super J-Cup shows, but he won't be one of the entrants in the tournament.

NJPW has announced that Liger will be wrestling in non-tournament action at all three of next month's Super J-Cup events. Liger is also being billed as the "producer" of the Super J-Cup.

Liger's matches for the shows have yet to be revealed. Liger wrestling at the events comes in advance of him retiring at the Tokyo Dome in January.

The list of participants for the Super J-Cup has also yet to be announced. The tournament will feature 16 entrants. Will Ospreay, Dragon Lee, Caristico, El Phantasmo, SHO, and YOH have been included on advertising for the tournament.

The first round of the Super J-Cup will take place at the Temple Theater in Tacoma, Washington on Thursday, August 22. The San Francisco State University Student Life Event Center in San Francisco, California will host the second round on Saturday, August 24. The semifinals and finals will then be held at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California on Sunday, August 25.
