AEW Ticket Announcement Party, Double or Nothing Card, New Talent, Kenny Omega, more

-- During the AEW Double or Nothing press conference Thursday night in Las Vegas, NV, Cody announced when tickets will officlally go on sale for the group's second pay-per-view event.

Registration is now open for a presale that will begin on Monday, February 11th at 3 PM Eastern/12 PM Pacific with the public onsale starting on Wednesday, February 13th at noon Eastern/9 AM Pacific. Prices were not announced.

As of 10:15 PM Eastern, they had received nearly 12,000 requests for presale codes, virually ensuring a sellout if they don't leave any tickets available for the public onsale.

Fans can register on AEW's website to get a unique code from now through February 10th at 10 PM Eastern with unique codes being sent on February 11th.

Double or Nothing is scheduled for Saturday, May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Officially announced at the presser was Hangman Page vs. PAC with matches involving the Young Bucks, Cody, SCU, and more expected to be announced shortly.

The group's first PPV event All In sold out in just over 30 minutes at the Sears Centre in Chicago, IL. The venue held 10,000 while the MGM is expected to be scaled for around 14,000.

-- All Elite Wrestling has formed a partnership with Mexico's Lucha Libre AAA.

Ahead of tonight's Double or Nothing ticket announcement party, AEW and AAA uploaded a video confirming the relationship between the companies. In the video, AAA's Dorian Roldan said that AEW and AAA's alliance will present new surprises to the fans. He also said that there will be an exchange of talent between the promotions.

Cody Rhodes then commented on the AEW-AAA partnership at the ticket announcement party. He said AAA's mission of providing the best lucha libre with an emphasis on modern stars stands up next to AEW's mission of providing fans with the best sports-centric pro wrestling show on the planet.

The AEW-AAA alliance is an interesting move politically given the partnership that exists between New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and CMLL.

This is the second partnership with another promotion that AEW has announced. At last month's Double or Nothing rally, Matt Jackson revealed that AEW is working with China's Oriental Wrestling Entertainment.

AAA also has a working relationship with Impact Wrestling.

Here's the video announcing AEW and AAA's partnership:

-- A number of new talent were introduced tonight at AEW’s Double or Nothing ticket party press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sonny Kiss started the night by coming out and announcing that he would be part of Double or Nothing. He has previously wrestled for Lucha Underground under the name XO Lishus and has wrestled in the past for Warriors of Wrestling and Tier 1 Wrestling. Sammy Guevara later arrived, billed as the AAA Cruiserweight champion saying he was a part of the AEW roster as well.

Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta, also made an appearance and announced that they would be joining the promotion after being introduced by the Young Bucks. The two had just finished their last commitments to New Japan Pro Wrestling over the weekend.

Brandi Rhodes followed and announced that Aja Kong and Yuka Sakazaki both would be appearing at Double or Nothing. Sakazaki is a regular for Tokyo Joshi Pro, which is under the DDT umbrella. Kylie Rae followed those announcements, with Brandi Rhodes noting she was no longer a free agent. Nyla Rose soon followed and the two had a staredown which eventually led to a seperation. Rae was trained by ACH and has wrestled for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion, as well as competing for RISE and SHIMMER in the past.

Nyla Rose has wrestled for Warriors of Wrestling, and has worked for a number of promotions in Japan including Sendai Girls, Marvelous and Zero One.

Double or Nothing will take place on May 25th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

-- After weeks of speculation and teases about his future, the expected outcome was confirmed tonight as Kenny Omega appeared at All Elite Wrestling's ticket announcement party.

Omega announced that he's now a "full-time member" of the AEW roster. A graphic that was shown on the screen identified Omega as an executive vice president of AEW, which is a role that Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks also have with the company.

Omega said he didn't put pen to paper on signing with AEW until this morning.

As Omega was talking about AEW changing the professional wrestling world, he was interrupted by Chris Jericho. Omega and Jericho had a pull-apart brawl, with the angle seemingly setting up a match between the two for Double or Nothing.

Double or Nothing is taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, May 25.

After losing the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13, Omega did an interview with Tokyo Sports announcing that he's leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling. His contract with NJPW expired at the end of January.

-- Thursday's AEW ticket announcement event in Las Vegas featured plenty of new faces and signings, leading to several matches that will be part of their highly-anticipated Double or Nothing event in May.

While not officially announced, an angle between Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho effectively confirmed the two will hook it up again in a rematch of their spectacular match at New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 12.

Omega was talking at the podium about why he signed a deal when Jericho's music hit. He walked out and didn't say anything to the crowd, but rather confronted Omega and the two quickly began to brawl before several wrestlers pulled them apart. Omega then signed off with his signature catchphrase to close out the show.

Another physical angle set up a tag team match between the Young Bucks and the Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix). As Matt and Nick Jackson were leaving the podium after announcing the signing of the Best Friends, the Lucha Bros came out and stared down the Bucks before attacking them with a superkick and piledriver, leaving them laying.

Here's a look at the still developing card with both officially announced and expected matches based what we saw Thursday:

Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho*
Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros*
Hangman Page vs. PAC
SCU vs. CIMA and two OWE wrestlers to be named later
Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Ray*

*Not officially announced

I hear they're going to invite people over for cake next time. When they cut it, the color of the cake is going to reveal the gender of their next talent signing/executive vice president! Don't worry if you can't make it, just tune in to Being The Elite...

If you slow it down to 1/3 speed it's the theme to The Golden Girls. No need to check for yourself, just trust me and tell everyone you know.

Gee, I guess the one shitass they couldn't afford was that "Buggenhammer" or whatever it is from last night's NXT...too bad...perfect fit it seems!
