ROH Survival of the Fittest 2016 Hype

CMLL STARS THE PANTHER, MISTERIOSO JR. TO COMPETE IN SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Thanks to the working relationship between Ring of Honor and CMLL, luchadors The Panther and Misterioso Jr. will compete in this year’s Survival of the Fittest in Texas.

The prestigious two-day tournament begins on Nov. 3rd in Arlington and concludes on Nov. 4th San Antonio. Past winners include current ROH World Champion Adam Cole and former world champions Bryan Danielson, Roderick Strong, Tyler Black, Eddie Edwards, Michael Elgin and Jay Lethal.

The Panther, son of longtime CMLL star The Blue Panther, will be making his U.S. debut. He is one-half of the CMLL Arena Coliseo Tag Team Champions, a title he and partner Guerrero Maya Jr. have held for 10 months.

In January, The Panther made his Japanese debut by participating in the Fantastica Mania Tour, which was co-promoted by NJPW and CMLL.

The Panther has experience in elimination matches, as he outlasted 10 competitors to win the Infierno en el Ring steel cage match in Mexico City last December.

Misterioso Jr. is a 20-year veteran who counts the legendary Dr. Wagner as one of his trainers.

A former co-holder of the CMLL Arena Coliseo Tag Team Title, Misterioso Jr. teamed with Perro Aguayo Jr. to win the Gran Alternativa tournament in 2006.

I lvoe how they have this completely unfair tournament with some guys getting singles matches to qualify while other guys have to face two or three other men, with absolutely no recognition that this is unfair, and with no reason behind it. Meanwhile, they'll have The Addiction run around claiming the company is biased against them but don't even think to give them some thin evidence by sticking them in one of these unfair qualifiers.

Also, why the f*ck is Kyle vs. Daniels non-tournament? There are eighteen spots in SOTF but Kyle and Daniels aren't high enough in the rankings to qualify? COME ON! (And that's even with Jay Lethal not on the shows because he's in Japan).

Well... Dane is a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He'll job to DIjak in the first round anyway. He's not a bad bring-in all things considered (local guy, former NWA WHC- which still feels a little bit like it means something even if intellectually I know it doesn't), and he'll job to Dijak in the first round, anyway.

On a much better note, night 2 has Lee & Taylor vs. War Machine in a "no rules" match (which is a dumb name for a street fight).

THE BRISCOES TAKE ON WAR MACHINE IN A REMATCH SEVEN MONTHS IN THE MAKING
LOL how is it a "rematch seven months in the making" if you haven't done anything to make this rematch feel important. It's not "a rematch seven months in the making." It's just "a rematch of a match from seven months ago."

Also, it's actually been less than six months since their PPV title match, so way to go ROH math department.
