Thelone Reviews MLW Fusion Episode 70

Post by Thelone » Aug 14th, '19, 15:59

Short rundown of the show to start, then...

Bestia 666 (w/ Salina de la Renta) vs. Rey Horus – ***
Good little brawler vs. high-flyer match.

Post-match, SDR throws herself some flowers for this great match and claims to be the best female promoter in the history of pro-wrestling, then she starts bitching about Konnan and here he comes. He basically calls her a whore once again, acts like he's gonna give her phone back, then says that she should be happy to have Savio Vega in Promociones Dorado. He mentions that while he was searching on her phone, he found out that she's gonna get a big bonus for tonight's main event, but didn't tell Vega about it. Now he knows though "somehow", and here he comes with a contract in his hand that he tears up before leaving with Konnan while SDR throws a mini-tantrum.

Dynasty are in a penthouse somewhere and MJF bought gold watches for both Hammerstone and Holliday because of all the gold they've won recently. They start making fun of Hart because he's a drug addict and Hammerstone is uncomfortable like last week, so much so that he hugs both his partners and is all teary-eyed before leaving abruptly.

The Hart Foundation are in a hotel and Pillman calls MJF a kiss-ass, moment chosen by one of Teddy's cats to lick another one's ass. Pillman is then training to do a moonsault on a bed with help from Teddy and DBS Jr.

We'll have the Opera Cup when they come back in New York in december, which is apparently a tournament that Stu Hart won in 1948 and Teddy gave the cup to MLW.

Contra introduce the asian guy from last week, who's called Ikuro Kwon. They claim he's a pit fighter from Singapore.

We see the attack from last week towards Marshall Von Erich, and we're now with his brother and Lawlor. Ross says that Marshall went back to Hawaii to visit an eye specialist and might not see the birth of his child, then Lawlor gets crazy again and... looks at the floor while doing it.

Announcement of the partnership with The Crash.

Lennox is now with Warner and his white board and CHAINSAW. He gets all fired up about bringing down Promociones Dorado one tree at a time. AND THEN THE INVISIBLE MAN ATTACKS HIM!!!

We're finally done with the avalanche of non-wrestling segments.

Ariel Dominguez and Jay Sky vs. Contra Unit (Josef Samael and Simon Gotch) – Squash

Post-match, Samael uses his railroad spike on Dominguez.

More recaps of stuff we already saw on this show, then a rather long recap of the SDR/Konnan/Warner storyline. Next week : LA Park vs. Jimmy Havoc in a New York Street Fight (no mention of a loser leaves town stip though), also Mance Warner vs. Ricky Martinez.

Alexander Hammerstone (c) (w/ Dynasty) vs. Savio Vega – *1/2
That was incredibly basic and pretty boring. Vega took Hammerstone's finisher so badly that it looked like he might have broken his legs/knees in the process.

Post-match, Pillman comes out to sneak-attack Holliday on the outside and steal Hammerstone's red jacket.

A pretty meh episode with not much moving forward besides knowing Kwon's name.
