MLW Fusion EP 4: Filthy Fighting
May 25, 2018
Orlando, FL

Show starts with Strickland arriving to the arena in style. He's with Barringtone Hughes. He is greeted by Salina de la Renta and tells him that his car is not the only thing that's rented, so is his title.

Santana Garrett vs Chelsea Green - 4.5/10
Santana Garrett is legit like a talented Bella, she looks like Wonder Woman in this comic book era, I really don't know why she isn't a millionaire.

Match started as a babyface vs babyface affair, a lot of good looking reversals and counters, but then Green just went crazy, cheap shot Santana and the match turned around. It's like Lauren Van Ness is coming out from deep inside Chelsea Green. Rest of the match saw Green work over Santana's back and head for a while until Garrett made her comeback and won the match. The match got botchier as the match went on.

Tom Lawlor Promo - We got a recap of Team Filthy beating up Jimmy Havoc from two weeks ago. Lawlor then cut a promo making fun of Havoc.

Simon Gotch Prize Fight Challenge
Simon Gotch w/Team Filthy vs Danny Santiago - Squash
Before the match, Gotch cut a promo making the challenge and the offer to the competitor if they can last with him -- $250. Kinda cheap. The man to answer the challenge is Danny Santiago, a white belt Capoeira fighter. He got some 'Let's Go White Belt' chants. Gotch killed him with one suplex and a Gotch Style Piledriver to retain the $250.

Kaci Lennox was to interview MJF, but Joey Janela and Aria came out of the locker room instead, claiming they didn't do anything bad.

MJF Interview - After commercial MJF was there for his interview, but then discovered that Janela and Aria left a bunch of domestic beer, prophylactics, and cigarette stubs.

MWL Heavyweight Championship Match
Pentagon Jr w/Salina de la Renta vs Shane "Swerve" Strickland (C) - 8/10
Penta came in to the ring to a normal entrance, but once in the ring, they brought in a mariachi band to sing the Mexican National Anthem. Pentagon even saluted and sang! This was awesome, a lot of fans respected the anthem, but some fans didn't. Mid match, Low Ki came out and sat on the ramp to watch the match.

Match saw Strickland start on top, then Pentagon turned the match around and worked over his legs for a while. At one point, Pentagon used the camera cable to tie Strickland to the ropes and went ahead and chopped him up. Shane made a comeback and at this point both men started working each other's arms. Later on, Pentagon moved his focus to Shane's head, chasing the Fear Factor and Penta Driver, both he eventually hit and Shane kept kicking out.

Finish saw Salina de la Renta get on the apron, but when Penta went for the Red Mist, Swerve dodged and hit Salina. Penta, distracted, turned only to be taken out by Shane's knee and Foot Stomp for the pin. Pretty good match, it was the title defense I needed to finally take Strickland as a deserving champion.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Good show, went by quick. The main event was really the only match worth checking out.
