Underworld Wrestling looks like a lot of fun. A dark take on Lucha Underground maybe (their monthly subscription cost is $6.66 lol). Has anyone heard of it?

It looks like their rankings are based on a point system (Men need 8 points for a title shot, women need 4), which seems simple and engaging.

Just wondering if this is a new thing or if I'm late to the party...

Never heard of it before, but CHIKARA has been doing the point thing for over a decade (each fall you win is a point, and you need three to challenge for either the Grand Championship or the Campeonatos de Parejas).
