Re: BRM Reviews the 2/26/2020 Dynamite (very bad)

There's always been an element of "cosplay" in some promotions, but having so many at once and in the same match is definitely an issue! Eh, I'll give you that Just don't watch Michinoku Pro for your own health, please. Anyone wrestling as Freddy Mercury is ridiculous. I've always thought that the ...

I'm so pleased to finally hear someone on this site admit that Orange Cassidy is a goof who is exposing and cheapening the wrestling business with his bullshit!!

I'm pretty sure I've said this every time he's appeared.
Clearly more subtly than I picked up on 😂

Re: BRM Reviews the 2/26/2020 Dynamite (very bad)

YUKA SAKAZAKI vs. BIG SWOLE vs. HIKARU SHIDA vs. SHANNA- 4/10 We’ve got four women in this match, and three of them are in cosplay gear. That’s too many people in one promotion wearing cosplay gear, never mind in one match. The match came off as very choreographed and spotty. The spot that broke me...

I'm so pleased to finally hear someone on this site admit that Orange Cassidy is a goof who is exposing and cheapening the wrestling business with his bullshit!! Also, 3 cosplay wrestlers in one match, again showing that AEW are allowing too much goofiness... if they had 1 individual cosplay wrestle...

Re: BRM Reviews the 2/19/2020 Dynamite

The fact you’ve got the tag title match as an 8 concerns me greatly. Spotted that made no sense. Tag rules weren’t stuck to. There’s weren’t tags, there was a full minute or two with guys outside the ring and the reg didn’t count anyone out! Two tag teams who ignored the rules of a tag match and no...

Re: AEW viewership down 12 percent this week, NXT narrows ratings gap

You think AEW has built a ton of stars? Aside from MJF, please put to me one star that AEW has built? Darby Allin. watch this week's show and if you don't think he's a star, you've lost sight of what wrestling is about You know what? I’m not sure I’d quite call him a big star yet but he’s certainly...

Re: AEW viewership down 12 percent this week, NXT narrows ratings gap

This is the thing. I'm not preferring one over the other at this point from an enjoyment perspective. In fact, it seems to go one week AEW is better, the next NXT is better. In 4 or 5 years, will NXT still exist and still getting viewership? Yes. WWE has the talent pool and the pull to do so. At th...

Re: AEW viewership down 12 percent this week, NXT narrows ratings gap

I actually think that AEW (and NXT, to an extent) are actually both doing a medium amount worse than people thought they would really? i think you had high expectations for both. RAW itself flirts with the "below 2M" line most weeks, and that's THE wrestling show. both AEW and NXT required a change...

Re: AEW viewership down 12 percent this week, NXT narrows ratings gap

This is still WWE's THIRD rated show that they're proud of beating. NXT will always win long term, because if they really wanted to, WWE could put so much star power into NXT that AEW wouldn't stand a chance. WWE has a roster of well over 100 to draw from. AEW uses the same 20 guys to fill their sh...

At least TNA had the temporary balls to go head to head with Raw on Mondays.
yeah, the balls of a drunk who's had enough liquid encouragement. It's nothing to be proud off or worth showing off
I didn’t say it was a good idea or that it was smart.

Re: AEW viewership down 12 percent this week, NXT narrows ratings gap

THIS! When TNA were doing double these numbers 8-10 years ago, people were slating them and the product and their ratings... yet, despite only getting half those numbers, people are crowing and congratulating AEW and fired up for this "war" against someone's C show. At least TNA had the temporary b...

Re: AEW viewership down 12 percent this week, NXT narrows ratings gap

Oh my god!!! The WEDNESDAY NIGHT WAR is getting SO CRAZY! I can't WAIT to see those NXT idiots with egg all over their bearded necks when AEW beats their asses again in the 9-14 year old demo, not that it matters because nobody is going to take the 44-89 demo from NXT and that's where all the money...

Re: BRM Reviews the 2/12/2020 NXT

I have a real problem with the broserweights being portrayed how they are. Matt Riddle has a legit background and Dunne wrestles in a true grappling style (with all the finger bends etc) they absolutely shouldn't be doing something this stupid. I would have written them to continue being that "reluc...

Re: AEW airing first-ever mixed tag team match on Dark

I don't think his deal is any different than Darby's handcuff spot that everyone loved so much, or the 6000 choreographed dives they do an episode, or The Rock cutting the same promo for two years... The difference is that Darby wrestling while handcuffed and the guys doing the choreographed dives ...

Re: AEW airing first-ever mixed tag team match on Dark

I don't think that's true, though. For non-fans the idea of "fake' pro wrestling has almost always been a non-starter, other than a major Attitude Era-like boom period. Lapsed fans know that pro wrestling can be done differently than WWE. Even if they have never seen it done differently, they'll re...

Re: AEW airing first-ever mixed tag team match on Dark

But AEW isn't attracting new fans. Their viewership (including DVRs) is not as high as it was early on. i'm not saying they are, I even said that everything points to their strategy going after lapsed fans. But at the end of the day, we need to stop blaming Orange Cassidy or Riho or Marko Stunt or ...

Re: AEW airing first-ever mixed tag team match on Dark

The problem with AEW is that it is a false economy with crowd reactions... because everything they do is already over with that crowd, it isn't really gaining too much new support from the casual viewer. Look at Orange Cassidy, the bloke literally mocks the wrestling business with his antics, it's ...
