Re: NJPW announces tournament match schedule for G1 Climax 29

The idea that the desire to win a championship is "greedy" is ridiculous. A championship is about personal pride and the validation of the years of hard work a wrestler has put in to his/her craft, and a wrestler who doesn't understand that is a heel. That's why babyfaces can have title matches aga...

Re: Day-to-Day Quote Topic

https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/1141136109394509824 This is a sort of corollary to what people were calling Ambrose's curse of being able to make their dumb comedy work, resulting in him being stuck doing dumb comedy. And the fault here still lies with WWE for being unable to adjust. Sure...

Re: Needed: Someone to Cover Next Week's Raw

I just find it somewhat humorously ironic that the one show you missed in a while had the main event of Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins lol. It only went eight minutes and it was a tag champ doing a job for no reason, and they wasted what should have theoretically been a huge PPV main event to "build...

Re: NJPW announces tournament match schedule for G1 Climax 29

As far as I can tell, it's Gedo attempting to silence his biggest critic by giving me an aneurysm. They used to be very strict about people only teaming with people in their stable and never fighting each other- even if someone got a pinfall on the world champion- except in the big tournaments. But...

Re: NJPW announces tournament match schedule for G1 Climax 29

The stables are basically irrelevant. No one comes out to save each other and it doesn't rigidly define who is allowed to team with who the way it used to. So... what is the point to it then? As far as I can tell, it's Gedo attempting to silence his biggest critic by giving me an aneurysm. They use...

Re: NJPW announces tournament match schedule for G1 Climax 29

The stables are basically irrelevant. No one comes out to save each other and it doesn't rigidly define who is allowed to team with who the way it used to. As for the blocks... block A should be great. Gedo's booking means we know that Block B will come down to Jay White vs. Naito. That being said, ...

Re: NJPW reveals G1 Climax 29 participants and blocks

Did they give a kayfabe reason for Suzuki not being in?

Also, I just watched the six-man against Okada, YOSHI-HASHI, & Henare... and I'm more than fine with Suzuki not being in the G1. It's one less Suzuki-Gun formula match.

this G1 sounds soooooo good. Give me Shingo vs Ishii

also, i'm not surprised that Yoshi-hashi didn't make it, but Suzuki missing out does break my heart.
I'd take YOSHI-HASHI over Taichi any day.

Word going around from a VOW interview is that Juice said he hates working for ROH and Lanza said that other NJPW talent have told him this as well.

BRM Reviews wXw Road to Superstars of Wrestling: Munster (great)

wXw Road to Superstars of Wrestling: Munster (5/31/2019)- Munster, Germany ILJA DRAGUNOV BACKSTAGE PROMO- okay He said he was coming for Marius Al-Ani, then did his crazy Ilja laugh. I hope NXT will be sending him to English classes. I’m fine with him speaking German and being subtitled, but if he’s...

Needed: Someone to Cover Next Week's Raw

Starting a new job on Monday with a commute time that requires me to wake up at 6:40 in order to be at work at 9, so I am going to be adjusting my sleep schedule. I'll still try to watch Raw, but it will be later in the week. This week I'm just going to skip it altogether, but if someone else wants ...

BRM Reviews wXw Mitteldeutschland Cup 2019

wXw Mitteldeutschland Cup 2019 (5/19/2019)- Leipzig, Germany BOBBY GUNNS BACKSTAGE PROMO- AWESOME! He basically rips Joey Janela a new one to build up to their title match at Superstars of Wrestling 2019 . Based on the context, my guess is that the word they have translated as “son of a bitch” proba...

wXw Saturday Wrestling II (4/12/2008)- Troisdorf, Germany OPENING SEGMENT- fine Tommy End suggests himself as a challenger for his buddy Pac’s wXw Light Heavyweight Title. Pac accepts, and we’ve got a main event set. This did a good job of getting across that these two guys are friends. ANDREW PATTE...

wXw True Colors 2019 (5/11/2019)- Dresden, Germany wXw WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Aussie Open(c) vs. Jay FK- 6.5/10 A solid babyface vs. heel opener. BRM Reviews ECW Ultimate Jeopardy 1996 (HOLY SH*T THAT GARY WOLFE ANGLE!)

ECW Ultimate Jeopardy 1996 (10/5/1996)- Philadelphia, PA DOUG FURNAS vs. LOUIS SPICOLLI- 2.5/10 They got exactly the time they needed to tell their story and that was about it, so this rating isn’t a reflection of a poor quality of work, but rather just on the pure entertainment level, which was lim...
