Horrendous one and very unexpected (as all sudden accident deaths like this are).

Re: Stephanie McMahon resigns as WWE co-CEO, Vince McMahon named executive chairman
If WWE does sell to the Saudis, any self respecting female is going to leave the company immediately, followed by Zayn, then Owens, then anyone with any religious or ethical beliefs that clash with the Saudis. It would be a massive mistake, but who else has mad money to put into this? Time for The R...

Re: Sting has plotted career ‘endgame,’ Darby Allin will be part of it
I always expected a turn and Sting putting Darby over in one last match, looks like Sting doesn't plan it that way. Which I do get, you can't make Darby a heel because people root for him because of his size and his work style (underdog who literally throws his body at you to get the job done) and ...

Re: Vince McMahon reportedly set for WWE return, intends to help manage potential sale of company
If he comes back from a business standpoint, it's almost like "eh, whatever". Though trying to sell a company where the figurehead has switched back from stable Stephanie McMahon to a Vince McMahon still covered in controversy does reduce the price a little bit. But if he comes back creati...

I like the smoothness of it. I really like that you have thought out how to naturally tie matches and segments into the later thing you want to plug. As for why it won't work... I just couldn't get over the match times. Creating reasons for things to be kept short is a good tool, but if you do it t...

Re: John Cena's return boosts WWE SmackDown to best viewership in two years
Nothing says "we've failed to build any major stars for years" like a seeing stat like this. Yes... but Fox also hyped this one a lot harder than they have most others. If only Fox hyped a show they paid billions of dollars for on their programming that much every week! In the UK, WWE is ...

Re: XIV uses 2000's WWF format to book AEW Dynamite.
Now let me break some of my thinking down... Everyone gets promo time Well, not everyone, but in my format, we got promos from Jericho Appreciation Society, Wardlow, Gunn Club, FTR, Jade Cargill, Saraya, Blackpool Combat Club, MJF & Ricky Starks. There's enough promo time for everyone without gi...

XIV uses 2000's WWF format to book AEW Dynamite.
Following on from my column on lessons learned from watching every major show the WWF put out in the year 2000, I was challenged to put this together as a format for a modern show. So, a couple of things before we get into it. I did this based off AEW's current roster for Dynamite and what I know of...

Re: Lessons learned from watching every WWF show from the year 2000
It's usually 8 minutes of commercials per half hour, but I don't know how much leeway shows get in terms of where to place them,or if ybey can go short in one place to make it up in another So for the sake of ease, I'll just break them down into 4 minute chunks where necessary and make sure there's...

Re: Lessons learned from watching every WWF show from the year 2000
I think the toothpaste is just out of the tube on long matches. It would take a tremendous investment of time to reeducate fans (especially in a pre-existing product instead of one where you're starting from scratch), and the result was that of the guys who weren't already made names, the only ones...

Re: Lessons learned from watching every WWF show from the year 2000
As for no advertisements during the matches, while I agree with you in principle, I think that the fanbase's tastes have evolved to the point where that's just not feasible. Fans wanted longer matches because they think that makes the matches better (and, more often than not, it does). Vince went o...

Re: BRM Reviews the 12/16/2022 Rampage (very bad)
STUPID ANNOUNCER QUOTES: 1. Jim Ross insisted that this was “one of the most powerful” “star-studded” and “compelling” Rampages ever. On a show with a Wardlow squash, Britt Baker vs. Skye Blue, and an eight-man tag main event full of undercard jamokes. I maintain that JR is stuck in 1999 where ever...

Re: Lessons learned from watching every WWF show from the year 2000
I totally agree about the short promos. They serve the important function of letting us hear the characters' motivations first-hand, which is always the most effective way to do that. An announcer just can't replicate that same emotion of hatred or determination or whatever. I'm fine with long prom...
